We are profoundly saddened to learn of the passing of Miss Albertine Browne.

Miss Browne dedicated 15 years of service to the Statistics Department as an Enumerator/Data Collector. During this time, she contributed to numerous surveys and censuses, including the 2011 Population and Housing Census, 2012 International Comparison Price Survey, 2018 Labour Force/Intercensal Count Census, 2023 Population and Housing Census, and the 2025-2026 Household Budgetary Survey/Survey of Living Conditions.

Throughout her years of service, Miss Browne was a dedicated, reliable, and hardworking member to the Statistics Department. She was well respected by the many households with whom she came into contact and was valued for her professionalism and extensive institutional knowledge of fieldwork. The Department has lost a true and dependable worker.

We extend our deepest condolences to Miss Browne’s family, friends, and all those who mourn her passing. May God grant you divine strength, comfort, and peace during this difficult time.

May her soul rest in perfect peace.

Representatives from the Statistics Department visited the Grade 6 class of the Brades Primary School to assist students with revision of the Statistics component of the Mathematics syllabus ahead of the national examination, focusing on measures of central tendency - mean, median, and mode.

Students worked with up-to-date statistical data relevant to Montserrat, applying statistical concepts to real-life situations. Through calculating and interpreting data, they gained a greater appreciation of how statistics are used to identify and understand trends.

At the end of each section of the presentation, the students were quizzed and won graph books as prizes to support the development of their skills in graphing, data representation, and analysis as they prepare for their transition to the Montserrat Secondary School.

The Statistics Department is committed to fostering awareness and understanding of data and statistics among school-aged students, encouraging the development of statistical literacy from an early age.
