The Montserrat Port Authority joined maritime leaders and professionals from across the United Kingdom, Crown Dependencies, and British Overseas Territories at the 37th Red Ensign Group (REG) Conference, held in Bermuda from 30 June to 2 July 2026.
The Red Ensign Group (REG) is a partnership dedicated to maintaining high standards in maritime safety, security, environmental protection, and vessel registration. The annual conference provides a platform for member administrations to collaborate, share best practices, and address emerging challenges facing the maritime sector.
Representing the Montserrat Port Authority were Mr. Joseph O'Garro, Port Manager & Harbour Master; Mr. George Green, Port Superintendent & Registrar of Ships; Ms. Khalah Ryan, Designated Person, Health, Safety and Environment (HSE); and Mr. Ian Clarkson, Maritime Policy and Compliance Consultant.
The conference focused on strategic priorities for the maritime sector, including resilience, regulatory developments, sustainability, and the evolving challenges facing the global shipping industry. Participation in this important forum ensures that Montserrat remains actively engaged in international maritime discussions and continues to uphold the high standards associated with the Red Ensign Group.
