After a deliciously prepared meal, the residents at Kappara Richmond Hostel attended an informative presentation on Human Trafficking. The session was enriching and eye-opening, as this was a new concept for many of them. 💙

On the 18th of July, the Human Trafficking Service through the New Beginnings Project attended the Cohesion Event 2026, organised by the Community Police and Gzira Local Council.

We utilised this opportunity to engage with members from different communities, to raise awareness on Human Trafficking and to educate people on the indicators of trafficking and exploitation. It was a great event that brought together different stakeholders while raising awareness on trafficking.

The service is available to newcomers aged 18 and over who hold a valid residence permit issued by the Maltese authorities. Support can be provided in person, online, by email or by phone.

Members of our team had the opportunity to participate in a Human Trafficking Study Visit in Madrid, Spain, where we exchanged knowledge and good practices with organisations working on the frontline of the fight against human trafficking.
During the visit, we met with the FIET offices and shelter, Diaconía, participated in street outreach and victim identification activities, and visited Amar Dragoste. These experiences provided valuable insight into different approaches to prevention, identification, protection, and support for victims of human trafficking.
We are very grateful for the warm welcome and the opportunity to learn from dedicated professionals. A big thank you also goes to Our Rescue, who organised this study visit and provided the space for new connections. Together, by sharing knowledge and strengthening international collaboration, we can continue improving our response to human trafficking.

Today, we stand with survivors and renew our commitment to raising awareness, promoting dignity, and working towards a world free from exploitation.

Every person deserves safety, freedom, and the chance for a new beginning.

We were delighted to welcome a delegation of professionals from Madrid, Spain to Malta as part of a Human Trafficking Study Visit aimed at strengthening international collaboration and the exchange of good practices.

During their visit, the delegation explored Malta's response to human trafficking by visiting the Human Trafficking Services Office within Aġenzija Appoġġ in Pietà, the Appoġġ Safe House, Aditus Foundation, Supportline 179, the Human Rights Directorate, and IOM Malta. The visits provided an opportunity to share experiences, discuss challenges, and showcase the multidisciplinary approach adopted in supporting victims of human trafficking.
