STATEMENT BY THE PARTIT NAZZJONALISTA – 14/07/2026
CHAOS IN LOCALITIES SUCH AS SWIEQI CAN NO LONGER BE ACCEPTED AS THE NORM
The Government must provide the Police and Local Councils with the resources needed to protect residents
What is happening in localities such as Swieqi and in other areas across Malta can no longer be accepted as part of everyday life.
Residents are being forced to live with constant noise, vandalism, a lack of public order, a frustrating waste situation and the fear that all of this will continue to get worse rather than be resolved.
Before the election, the Government spoke at length about the Malta we want to live in. Yet the reality experienced by many families is entirely different.
Sleep deprivation, late-night noise, acts of vandalism and a growing sense of insecurity are having a serious impact on people’s lives.
People have the right to live in their homes, which they have often bought after years of sacrifice, in peace, dignity and safety.
The Government must take concrete action immediately. It cannot expect Police officers and Local Councils to solve these problems, which are often the result of the Government’s own political decisions, while leaving them without sufficient resources, personnel and enforcement tools.
The Partit Nazzjonalista insists that communities cannot continue to be left alone to face a situation that has been steadily deteriorating.
People are suffering. It is time for the Government to stop with the fine words and start delivering on its promises.
It is time for the Government to walk the talk.
