Your First Birthday in Heaven
Today we celebrate your birthday in a different way.
As Scouts, we are taught that every journey has a beginning, a path to follow, and a destination. Your earthly journey ended far sooner than anyone could have imagined, but your Scouting journey continues in every life you touched.
You lived the Scout Promise every single day. You served without expecting anything in return. You led by example. You encouraged others to do their best. You taught young people that being a Scout is not just about wearing a uniform or a scarf—it is about living with kindness, respect, courage, and service.
For eight years, you were more than a Scout Leader. You were a mentor, a role model, a brother, and a friend. You celebrated every achievement, stood beside those who struggled, and believed that every young person deserved someone who believed in them.
Your campfires may have gone quiet, but the light you lit in so many hearts will never fade.
Today, your Scout family remembers you with pride. Every Scout who renews their Promise, every leader who gives their time, every act of service, every smile around a campfire, and every good deed carried out without expecting recognition keeps your spirit alive.
Your final hike came much sooner than we wished. We could not walk beside you to the end of that trail, but we know that the Chief Scout of the World has welcomed you into the Eternal Camp, where every path is peaceful, every campfire burns brightly, and every reunion is filled with joy.
As we look towards the sky today, we imagine you wearing your Scout scarf with the same smile that inspired so many of us. We know you are still watching over your family, your Scout family, your friends, and everyone who had the privilege of sharing part of life’s journey with you.
Thank you for showing us what true Scouting means—not through words, but through the way you lived.

Until we meet again around the Eternal Campfire, we will continue walking the trail you showed us, helping other people at all times, doing our best, and leaving this world a little better than we found it.
