A BODY SCRUB MADE BY YOU, NOT PICKED OFF A SHELF.

Join us at Salina Nature Reserve for a hands-on Salt Scrub Workshop using local Salina salt, natural oils and nourishing butters.

You’ll explore the chemistry behind the ingredients, including how oils and butters differ, what each contributes, and how they work together with salt to create the texture of a body scrub.

Led by chemist and educator Gilbert Zahra, this is a chance to learn something new, make your own body scrub and take it home with you.

No previous experience is needed. Just come curious.

Have you ever seen a Grey Heron catch something?

Come to Salina to observe these fascinating birds and catch the start of autumn migration. As birds start moving through, you may also spot other herons and egrets, waders and kingfishers around the wetland.

Salt Fest 2026 starts TODAY! 🧂

Yesterday, we kicked off the festivities with our special Sip, Soak & Savour in Nature evening, exploring Salina's salt pans, visiting the Salt Museum and discussing the importance of Malta's Natura 2000 sites.

Now it's your turn to experience Salina!

Join us TODAY, Saturday 25 July, and tomorrow, Sunday 26 July, from 4pm to 8:30pm at Salina Nature Reserve for an afternoon and evening filled with history, nature and family fun.

After Salina Park Manager Manuel Mallia spoke about salt harvesting and Salina's rich history on TVM's daily programme Mal-Erbat Irjieħ, our Public Engagement Executive Antonia Micallef joined host Antonella Vassallo in studio to talk about Salt Fest 2026 and what visitors can look forward to this weekend.

Taking place this Saturday and Sunday, the third edition of Festa Melħ celebrates the cultural, historical and environmental heritage of Malta's iconic Salina salt pans.
