As we reach the final month of the application period, here’s a reminder that this year’s call features seven thematic areas across three categories:

💧 𝗪𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿, ⚡ 𝗘𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗴𝘆, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 🔄 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗪𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿-𝗘𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗴𝘆 𝗡𝗲𝘅𝘂𝘀.

Projects can have a range of deliverables, from publishing in scientific journals and presenting at conferences to ultimately delivering a working prototype that can be demonstrated in an operational environment, all within the scheme’s maximum
three-year timeframe.

This reflects the Agency's commitment to supporting tangible, impactful innovation that contributes to long-term environmental sustainability.

This year marks the 7th consecutive edition of the Energy & Water Agency’s R&I Scheme, supporting innovative ideas for Malta’s energy and water sectors and a more sustainable future.

Since 2020:
🔹 7 R&I Calls
🔹 18 funded projects
🔹 €2+ million invested in research and innovation

For the 7th Call, every funded project must deliver a working prototype or demonstrable model within a maximum implementation period of three years, turning research into practical solutions.
