Our students aren’t simply people staying with a family for a while. They can become friends, companions, and part of your everyday life — whether it’s cooking a meal together, or enjoying a weekend outing. 🌅🍝

Today, we wanted to share a beautiful letter from one of our students to their host family. 💙 It is a wonderful reminder of the lasting impact our hosts have on the lives of young people who travel far from home to learn English and experience a new culture.

While students may stay with you for only a few weeks, the kindness, patience, and care you show can stay with them for a lifetime. Sometimes, it's easy to forget just how meaningful your role is—but to them, you are so much more than a place to stay. You are part of their journey, their confidence, and their memories of Malta.

As we mentioned in our previous post, we decided to choose our Host Family of the Month based on our students' feedback—and we're excited to announce that Victoria was our very first winner! 🎉💙

Our students had so many wonderful things to say about their experience with Victoria. They especially highlighted her amazing cooking skills, which made them feel right at home, as well as the special moments they shared together—whether it was spending time at the beach, walking the dog, or simply enjoying everyday life as part of the family.

This weekend, we'll be welcoming our first students of the season, and we couldn't be more excited! Thank you to all our amazing Host Families for opening your homes and helping create unforgettable experiences.

To help you get ready, here's a quick checklist to make sure everything is set for your student's arrival:

✅ Linen and towels ready
✅ Confirm you will be home at arrival time
✅ Arrival checked on the app
✅ Emergency number saved
✅ Allergies checked
✅ Student welcomed personally
✅ House rules explained
