Our goal is to provide the public with up-to-date, comprehensive, and meaningful information on Government policies, services and activities, as well as on matters of public interest, and to promote a proper image of the public service and the country. Our history: The first Information Office in Malta was set up by the British Government in 1939. This office functioned as the island's war informa

tion centre until the end of World War II in 1945, when it was closed down concurrently with the dissolution of the Ministry of Information in the U.K. A Public Relations Office was eventually set up, and three years later it was amalgamated with the government Tourist Bureau. In 1955, the Information office made its reappearance under the guise of the Central Office of Information, reclaiming its place from the Public Relations Office. The C.O.I's main task was to concentrate the information services that had mushroomed within the other government departments since its demise. By 1957, it had expanded in such a way that it merited the title Department of Information and Tourist Services. After a few months, information services gained their independence from the touristic ones and became the Department of Information we know today.

Fl-imgħoddi Wied iż-Żurrieq flimkien ma’ Għar Lapsi, kien port tas-sajd mill-aqwa fil-kosta tal-Lbiċ ta’ Malta.

Wied iż-Żurrieq - Although named Wied iż-Żurrieq, the valley itself sees its origin in Wied Ħoxt, a valley which reaches as far back as the panoramic road connecting the Blue Grotto (il-Ħnejja) to the Ħaġar Qim temples.

Since earlier times, Wied iż-Żurrieq together with Għar Lapsi, have provided the best fishing harbour on Malta's South West coast.

Ġiet inawgurata binja ġdida f’Ħal Kirkop li permezz tagħha Aġenzija Sapport ser tkun qed tkompli ssaħħaħ is-servizzi tagħha għal persuni b’diżabilità, permezz ta’ investiment ta’ €1.4 miljun. Il-binja, bl-isem ta’ “Spalla”, ser toffri servizzi ta’ respite kif ukoll servizzi tranżitorji għal għajxien indipendenti fil-komunità.

B’dan il-proġett qed titwettaq miżura oħra mill-Budget, li tipprovdi għal ċentru ta’ respite fin-nofsinhar ta’ Malta, bil-għan li persuni b’diżabilità u l-familji tagħhom ikollhom aktar servizzi viċin il-komunità tagħhom.

Il-binja mistennija tibda topera minn Settembru 2026, bit-tmexxija tas-servizzi ser ikunu fdati f’idejn l-Inspire Foundation.

Il-faċilità ser tkun tista’ takkomoda sa massimu ta’ 12-il persuna fl-istess waqt. Kull persuna ser tingħata assessjar individwali minn professjonisti ta’ Aġenzija Sapport bil-għan li kull servizz ikun imfassal skont il-bżonnijiet u x-xewqat tal-individwu b’tim multidixxiplinari ta’ professjonisti ser ikun qed isegwi l-progress ta’ kull persuna.
