💬 During the 'Stat tan-Nazzjon' conference, Silvan Mifsud, Vice President of The Malta Chamber, highlighted that, as a nation, we have trade-offs to make in all aspects, including the one relating to Malta’s low fertility rate.

The importance of improving Malta’s labour productivity is also linked with the ability to improve family-friendly measures that could, in turn, have a positive impact on Malta’s fertility rate.

However, the overall narrative has to be within the context of 'cause & effect', whereby each policy decision needs to ensure that it considers the effect it will have at a 360-degree level.

As part of the EXCEL4MED project, The Malta Chamber organised and hosted a 5-day Staff Exchange in Malta, welcoming representatives from the Hellenic Food Industry Federation (SEVT).

As part of the exchange, The Malta Chamber organised meetings with Maypole, Malta Food Agency, GSD and University of Malta.

The exchange combined site visits, stakeholder discussions and knowledge-sharing activities across Malta’s agri-food ecosystem, helping bridge research with real-world business practices and strengthen collaboration between project partners.
