🇲🇹🇸🇪 Learning, Sharing and Growing Together through Erasmus+! 🇪🇺✨

This week, Sir M.A. Refalo Sixth Form had the pleasure of welcoming three educators from Hulebäcksgymnasiet, Sweden, for an Erasmus+ job shadowing experience.

Throughout their visit, our Swedish colleagues had the opportunity to observe various lessons, exchange teaching practices and engage in fruitful discussions with our Head of School, Deputy Heads and Guidance Team.

🤝 Such experiences provide valuable opportunities for professional development, the exchange of good practices and the strengthening of international partnerships.

🇸🇪🇲🇹 The collaboration will continue in November, when two of our teachers will visit Hulebäcksgymnasiet in Sweden for their own job shadowing experience, further strengthening the professional ties between our two schools.

💙 A heartfelt thank you to all members of staff who contributed to making this visit a meaningful and enriching experience.

🇪🇺 Our Students at EUROSCOLA 2026 in Strasbourg! 🇪🇺

A group of our students, accompanied by Ms Daniela Zammit, Mr Marvic Mercieca, Mr Mark George Schembri and Ms Nicolette Attard, are currently at the European Parliament in Strasbourg, participating in the prestigious EUROSCOLA programme.

Today's discussions focus on “Protection of Human Rights and Solidarity: EU’s Ambition Towards a World of Freedom, Security and Justice.”

Through engaging debates, interactive workshops and a simulation of the work of Members of the European Parliament, our students are exchanging ideas with young people from across Europe, exploring the importance of human rights, solidarity and democracy.

👏 A wonderful opportunity for our students to make their voices heard, broaden their horizons and experience European democracy in action!

🏆⚽🏀 Sports, Teamwork & International Friendship! 🌍🤝

Yesterday, our students joined their friends from Turkey 🇹🇷, France 🇫🇷 and Italy 🇮🇹 for an exciting day filled with sports, teamwork and friendship!

The day kicked off with a visit to Sir M.A. Refalo Sixth Form, where our international friends were given a warm welcome by our Head of School, Ms Frankline Zammit Galea. ❤️

The students then headed off for an action-packed sporting event, participating in various exciting relay races featuring football, basketball, lacrosse, tennis, tag rugby and volleyball! 🏐🎾🏉

The event was organised in collaboration with the Ministry for Gozo and Victoria Hotspurs F.C. Coordinated by our Deputy Head and Erasmus+ Coordinator, Ms Abigail Camilleri, together with Mr Angelo Bonello, who organised the sporting activities, and Mr Anthony Briffa

👏 A special chapeau to Mr Angelo Bonello for his excellent work, dedication and enthusiasm in making the sporting activities such a success!

A big well done to all students for their energy, sportsmanship and team spirit! 💪👏

Ilbieraħ il-poeta u storjografu Charles Bezzina indirizza lill-istudenti tas-Sixth Form f’Għawdex dwar il-valur tal-poeżija

Fl-iskola Post-Sekondarja Sir Michelangelo Refalo Sixth Form f’Għawdex, l-istudenti tal-Malti fil-Livell Avvanzat flimkien mal-għalliema tagħhom kellhom l-opportunità unika li jattendu għal laqgħa u diskussjoni mar-riċerkatur, storjografu, kittieb u poeta magħruf Għawdxi, Charles Bezzina.

Matul din iż-żjara kordjali u edukattiva, is-Sur Bezzina qasam mal-istudenti l-esperjenza u l-vjaġġ letterarju tiegħu, filwaqt li ppreżenta riflessjonijiet profondi dwar x'inhu t-tifsir veru u l-valur indispensabbli tal-poeżija fis-soċjetà tal-lum. Huwa saħaq li l-poeżija mhix biss eżerċizzju akkademiku jew reċitazzjoni ta’ vers, iżda hija espressjoni intima tal-ruħ li tqanqal l-emozzjonijiet, tirrifletti l-identità kulturali u tiddokumenta x-xewqat u l-esperjenzi tal-bniedem.

Fost il-punti ewlenin li spikkaw matul id-diskors tiegħu, is-Sur Bezzina ffoka fuq il-metodu kif għandu jsir l-apprezzament poetiku. Din l-attività serviet ta' pont imprezzabbli bejn it-teorija akkademika fil-klassi u l-esperjenza prattika tal-kreattività letterarja mal-awtur innifsu.

L-amministrazzjoni tal-iskola flimkien mal-għalliema rringrazzjaw lil Charles Bezzina ta’ din il-visita u tal-kontribut kontinwu tiegħu lejn il-patrimonju u l-letteratura Maltija.

🩷Wear Pink! Students are encouraged to wear something pink and make a donation to support this meaningful cause.

🌍🇪🇺 Celebrating Another Erasmus+ Achievement!

Today, our Deputy Head and Erasmus+ Coordinator, Ms Abigail Camilleri, attended the General Monitoring Meeting and Grant Award Ceremony, organised by the EUPA Malta - Erasmus+ & European Solidarity Corps

The General Monitoring Meeting provided valuable guidance on Erasmus+ project implementation, programme rules and requirements. It also offered an opportunity to exchange ideas, seek clarification and gain further insights into the effective management of Erasmus+ projects.

During the Grant Award Ceremony, Sir M.A. Refalo Sixth Form was proudly presented with a certificate recognising our Erasmus+ Accreditation!

We are also delighted to announce that our school has secured funding for another Erasmus+ project!

These achievements reflect our school's continued commitment to offering students and staff meaningful international experiences, promoting cultural exchange and creating learning opportunities beyond the classroom.

🙏 A Moment of Peace and Prayer 🕊️

Today, our school chapel welcomed students and staff for a special time of Eucharistic Adoration, organised by our Pastoral Team and led by our Spiritual Director, Fr Joseph Curmi.
Between 9:30 a.m. and 12:00 p.m., everyone was invited to take a break from their busy day and spend a few moments in prayer, reflection and silence in the presence of Jesus. ❤️

Sometimes, even a few seconds of prayer can bring peace to our hearts.

A heartfelt thank you to Fr Joseph Curmi and our Pastoral Team for organising this meaningful spiritual experience.

🇲🇹🇸🇰 Until We Meet Again, Slovakia! 💙💛
Today marked the end of another memorable Erasmus+ experience with our Slovak friends! 🇪🇺

The final day kicked off with an interactive workshop led by Deputy Head and Erasmus+ Coordinator Ms Abigail Camilleri, during which students shared presentations about their cultures, traditions and identities. 🌍🤝

To celebrate the friendships formed, Head of School Ms Frankline Zammit Galea presented our Slovak teachers and students with small tokens of appreciation and certificates to mark their participation. 🎓🎁

These past days have been all about learning, sharing, connecting and creating unforgettable memories!

A heartfelt thank you also goes to our students for their enthusiasm, friendship and active participation, and to all SLT, teachers and members of staff involved for their dedication, support and teamwork in making this Erasmus+ experience such a success! ❤️

🎨🇲🇹🇸🇰 One Canvas, Two Countries, Endless Friendships! 🤝❤️

Today was all about creativity, teamwork and making new friends! 🌍

Our students joined forces with their Slovak friends for a fun and colourful art workshop led by our very own Art teacher, Mr Mario Cassar! 🖌️🎨

The session kicked off with an interesting journey through European art history before students rolled up their sleeves and got creative!

Students from Gozo and Slovakia worked side by side to paint giant posters filled with colourful symbols of friendship, unity and togetherness. 🎨💙

Different countries, different cultures, but one amazing team! 🙌

That's the magic of Erasmus+ — bringing students together, sharing experiences and creating friendships that go beyond borders! 🇪🇺

🎨✨ Art, Inspiration & Discovery in Valletta!

Last Monday, three of our Advanced Level Art students, together with their teacher Mr Mario Cassar, swapped the classroom for the streets of Valletta! 🏛️🖼️

They spent the day exploring fascinating art and antique collections, discovering new ideas and gathering inspiration for their upcoming MATSEC exams.

📚🎨 Who says exam preparation has to happen behind a desk? Sometimes, the best way to learn is to get out there, explore and experience art up close!
