Apprezza Campaign Hello Friends,

I’m Turu, the Tourist. I am an octopus as you can see and I live in the sea between Malta and Gozo. I was very confused!

The Apprezza Campaign is a tourism educational campaign which aims to raise awareness about the importance of Malta’s tourism product by learning and appreciating Malta's culture, heritage and natural environment. One day, something special happened that changed my life. I met Sahharina, a friendly fairy who told me that she needed my help. She asked me to come over to Malta to help out the Maltes

e people to appreciate more the Maltese Islands so it becomes a better place for both the Maltese as well as for the tourists like me who come and visit you. I loved living in the sea but I knew that if the Maltese needed my help, I couldn’t refuse. Now I only have a small problem; I don’t know what I have to do! However, together we can explore the beauty of the Maltese islands; their nature, heritage, traditions, culture, history and may other interesting things. We can make new friendships and have fun whilst we discover Malta and how we can make it a better place!

Dear friends, sadly all Apprezza events until end of March 2021 have also been cancelled due to the current Covid-19 situation. We will keep you informed about activities for the rest of the year closer to date.

Meanwhile, we would like to take this opportunity to wish you a happy new year, with the hope that it will be a better one for all.

Due to the current Covid-19 situation, with a heavy heart we decided that no Apprezza activities will be held until the end of this year. We will keep following the guidelines and restrictions being issued and will inform you once we have further updates with regards to 2021 Apprezza activities.

Hello everyone, we would like to inform you that in the coming days, we shall be publishing this year’s weekend activities calendar. We are planning each event carefully, and will be following the guidelines and recommendations issued by the health authorities. Stay tuned! 😊

So here is the recipe for the xkumvat which was made on Saturday at the unique Inquisitor's Palace
200g dqiq (flour)
40g margarine
40g zokkor (sugar)
4 qatriet (drops) vanilja
2 abjad tal- bajd - (egg whites_
1.5tbsp anisette or ilma zhar (orange blossom water)

Simply rub in the flour and the margarine.
Mix the egg whites, sugar, vanilla and anisette/blossom water in a bowl.
Blend the 2 sets of ingredients together into a smooth pastry
Roll out the pastry into 1cm thick
Cut into 2cm thick strips and make into knots, bows etc
Deep fry in oil until golden, if you want brush with honey and dust with icing sugar and coloured sprinkles
