𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗶𝘀 𝘂𝘀! 𝗢𝘂𝗿 𝗵𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆! 𝗔𝗻𝗱 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗶𝘁 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗲𝗱!

🇬🇧 It is with immense pride and gratitude that we share the completion of the restoration of the Kalamazoo, a remarkable piece of Malta’s corporate history. Long before digital records and online registries, the Kalamazoo served as the official register where companies were meticulously recorded and made accessible to the public, standing as a tangible testament to an era when every entry was inscribed with care.

The journey to restore this historic treasure was far from simple. It began with extensive research, gathering testimonials and historical information to better understand its purpose, significance, and legacy. This effort brought together dedicated professionals from Heritage Malta and the Notarial Archives Foundation, who immediately recognised the historical value and uniqueness. Through their expertise Kalamazoo has been restored to its former dignity.

As we reflect on the generations that came before us, we also look to those who will shape the future. We warmly invite students pursuing studies in Company Law and related fields to visit our offices and explore this extraordinary piece of history. Visitors will have the opportunity to examine a specially prepared digital version of the Kalamazoo and watch a documentary tracing the evolution of company law in Malta.

We also encourage members of the public to stop by and discover this unique treasure for themselves. The Kalamazoo will be proudly displayed at our entrance, where it can continue to tell its story and remind us of the enduring importance not to forget who we are and how far we’ve come.

🇲🇹 Ninsabu kuntenti li naqsmu magħkom it-tlestija tar-restawr tal-Kalamazoo, apparat notevoli mill-istorja korporattiva ta’ Malta. Fi żmien qabel is-sistemi diġitali ta’ reġistri onlajn, il-Kalamazoo serva bħala r-reġistru uffiċjali fejn il-kumpaniji kienu jiġu rreġistrati b’mod metikoluż u jitpoġġew aċċessibbli għall-pubbliku. Il-Kalamazoo jibqa’ xhieda tanġibbli tal-era meta kull entrata kienet tinkiteb b’attenzjoni u preċiżjoni kbira.

Il-vjaġġ biex jiġi restawrat dan it-teżor storiku ma kienx sempliċi. Beda b'riċerka estensiva, ġbir ta' testimonjanzi u informazzjoni storika biex nifhmu aħjar l-iskop, is-sinifikat u l-wirt tiegħu. Dan l-isforz ġabar flimkien professjonisti ddedikati minn Heritage Malta u l-Fondazzjoni tal-Arkivji Notarili, li immedjatament għarfu l-valur storiku u uniku tiegħu. Permezz tal-kompetenza tagħhom, il-Kalamazoo ġie rrestawrat bl-aħjar mod possibbli għall-istat oriġinali tiegħu.

Hekk kif nirriflettu fuq il-ġenerazzjonijiet li ġew qabilna, inħarsu wkoll lejn dawk li se jsawru l-futur. Nistiednu bil-qalb lill-istudenti li qed isegwu studji fil-Liġi tal-Kumpaniji u oqsma relatati biex iżuru l-uffiċċju tagħna u jesploraw din l-apparat straordinarju. Il-viżitaturi se jkollhom l-opportunità li jeżaminaw verżjoni diġitali mħejjija u jsegwu dokumentarju dwar l-evoluzzjoni tal-Liġi tal-Kumpaniji f'Malta.

Inħeġġu wkoll lill-membri tal-pubbliku biex iżuru u jiskopru dan it-teżor uniku. Il-Kalamazoo huwa esebit fid-daħla prinċipali tagħna, min fejn jista’ jkompli jirrakkonta l-istorja tiegħu u jfakkarna fl-importanza dejjiema li ma ninsewx min aħna u fejn wasalna.

🇬🇧 The MBR participated in the London Tech Week 2026, one of Europe’s leading technology and innovation events, bringing together industry leaders, policymakers, startups, and digital experts from around the world to discuss emerging trends and advancements in the tech sector.

Representing the at the event were Liston Agius from the Information and Communications Technologies Unit and Carl Gauci from the Registry Unit.

🇲🇹 l-MBR ipparteċipat fil-London Tech Week 2026, wieħed mill-aktar avvenimenti ewlenin fl-Ewropa fil-qasam tat-teknoloġija u l-innovazzjoni, li jiġbor flimkien mexxejja tal-industrija, policymakers, startups u esperti diġitali minn madwar id-dinja sabiex jiddiskutu x-xejriet emerġenti u l-iżviluppi teknoloġiċi.

🇬🇧 This week, MBR's CEO and Registrar Dr Geraldine Spiteri Lucas, along with MBR's COO and Deputy Registrar Ms Annalise Zammit and MBR's Head of the Legal and Enforcement unit Dr Dorita Cardona participated in the MIA's "Meet the Regulator Series".

During the session they provided key updates on proposed legislative amendments, including mandatory Malta nexus requirements, and digital initiatives such as the Malta Business Wallet. The session also featured an interactive Q&A, fostering valuable dialogue between practitioners and the regulator.
