We are a nonprofit educational organisation, committed to empower individuals through personal growth, leadership, and communication skills.

We are a group of friendly people who meet on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of every month from 5:45-8pm in the Voila Hotel, Bagatelle Mall, Moka. Many of the members come directly from work as it is conveniently placed between Port Louis and Ebene. There are even small light snacks during the break to satisfy the small hunger. Our name is Financial Toastmaster Club, but this is just a name. We welcom

e members and guests from many professions, so whatever your profession you are very welcome to join us. Would you like to improve your public speaking skills, learn to communicate, improve your self confidence or just make new friends? It was truly an honour and a privilege to lead our first Toastmasters meeting of the new presidential term. It was a memorable evening filled with collaboration, reflection, and shared aspirations for the journey ahead.

Our theme for the evening was Strategic Plan, where members had the opportunity to share their vision for the future of the club. The Executive Committee also presented our strategic plan, building on the excellent initiatives of previous ExCos while fine tuning and strengthening them to support the year ahead.

💡 One of the highlights of the evening was the interactive activity, where everyone came together to discuss the club's challenges, explore possible solutions, and share ideas. These valuable perspectives will help shape our plans and ensure that the direction taken remains aligned with members' expectations.

🎙️ The meeting was beautifully guided by Hemlesh Greedharry as the Toastmaster of the Day, with DTM Ally Jaulim serving as General Evaluator alongside his TAG team: Timer Neel Bhantoa, Ah Counter DTM Padmini Lareine, and Grammarian Adiilah Soormally. The Toast of the Day, by Kamalakshi Dayal Ramseebaluck, added further value to the evening with a meaningful contribution.

Special appreciation goes to all our role takers for their dedication and commitment. Their efforts continue to provide the stepping stones needed for continuous improvement and meaningful learning experiences.

The energy, participation, and enthusiasm throughout the meeting reflected the strength of our Toastmasters community. Together, we look forward to making the 2026/27 mandate a successful and impactful journey.

Yesterday's Joint Session reminded us that Toastmasters is so much more than speeches. 🤩 💙✨

Members from all six Area F02 clubs (Financial, Bagatelle, PowerCommunicators, Royal, Plateau and Standard Bank (Mauritius) Toastmasters Clubs) came together for the Area F02 Legacy Session, beautifully organised by our Area Director Adiilah under the inspiring theme "A Legacy of Excellen-ge, A Lasting Impact." 🤝💙 With 45+ Toastmasters in attendance, the evening truly celebrated learning, friendship and leadership.

Our enthusiastic TMoD, Asha, led the evening brilliantly 👏. In her welcome address, our Area Director, Adiilah Soormally, officially welcomed everyone to the session and reflected on the importance of leaving a legacy through leadership and challenges✨😎. The evening opened with a heartfelt Toast of the Day by Surosh, who recognised every Club President and celebrated each club's achievements throughout the year 🥂👏. A fun baton-passing activity then invited members to share memorable Toastmasters moments 🎶. Shivani recalled winning Best Speaker 🏆, Bob reflected on his commitment to Toastmasters while Jean Paul reminded us that anyone can become a Toastmaster❤️

The prepared speeches were packed 🎤. Asvin (Plateau) impressed everyone with his singing talent, Raj Bholah (Bagatelle) inspired us to learn, unlearn and relearn 📚, Dwij (PWC) we learnt he was known as "Grand Rogbeer" in college 😄, while Kamini (Royal) reminded us that despite not controlling the outcome, we can always choose how we react ❤️

During Table Topics, led by Wendy (Financial & Standard Bank), DTM Dhanu, Emmanuel(guest), Janesh Torul (Royal) and DTM Jeeana shared creative and heartfelt ideas on the impact they hope to leave behind.

The evening concluded with evaluations from Shivani (PWC), Salman , Doorvish and Yamini, followed by Jayalaxmi's General Evaluation. Reports were also delivered by Bob (Grammarian), Khirish (Timekeeper) and President Khadiime Jhumka (Ah Counter & Listening Post👏🏅

What a special session last Wednesday. The last FTC session of President Khadiime truly ended with The Final Whistle and what a beautiful way to close this season 🏟️✨

The evening started with a little trip down memory lane as President Khadiime asked everyone to share their World Cup memories. Somehow, two legends kept coming back: Waka Waka and Zidane’s famous headbutt 😂⚽🏆. Then came our football bowling game. Yes, FTC officially turned into a mini stadium for a while. The winner was none other than Ameerah , who even got to take the ball back home. Lesson learnt for next time: use heels to play football. You are almost sure to win 😂🤪

For the Toast of the Day, Hemlesh delivered a wonderful speech celebrating the amazing year we had together. A toast to the captain and to all the great players who made this season such a memorable one 🥂

During the business session, President Khadiime Jhumka had the honour of serving as the Installing Officer and leading the oath-taking ceremony of our President-Elect, Hemlesh Greedharry. Wishing you all the very best for the year ahead.

Our Table Topics session was led by Vaibhav Yannick Puri as TTM, bringing fun discoveries from Gherav (guest), Ashfaq (guest), President Khadiime , Hemlesh and Yannick himself 🎤😄. The session was then wrapped up by our General Evaluator Kamalakshi and her tag team report, supported by Kadeer as Timer, Ameerah as Grammarian and Salman as Ah-Counter. Thank you for keeping the game full of learning⏱️📚👏

Last but not least, President Khadiime Jhumka had the pleasure of blowing the Final Whistle by congratulating every member who supported him throughout this year. For him, It has been a great honour captaining this beautiful and fun team.

The final whistle of the Grand Finale will be blown on 30th June, but the FTC spirit continues💙⚽

Some meetings leave a lasting impression, not because of a single moment, but because they remind us how far we have travelled together 💙

The energy quickly shifted as members took part in a lively Table Topics Musical Chair session 🎶💃🕺. From creative answers to unexpected twists, spontaneity ruled the room. Members including Bob, Ally, Kamalakshi, Jemma, Yeshnav, Yannick and Salman stepped up to the challenge, bringing plenty of laughter and unforgettable moments.

Following a warm break over refreshments ☕🍪, we moved into the Annual General Meeting, a time to celebrate what FTC achieved together during the past year.

The Auditor's Report was presented, followed by reports from Treasurer Aneesha, VPE Nabilah, VPM Salman, Secretary Ramjay and SAA Yannick. Each report highlighted the dedication, teamwork and commitment that helped shape another meaningful chapter in FTC's story. 🌟

A key milestone of the evening was the election of the incoming Executive Committee for 2026-2027. Led by Election Convenor IPP Adiilah Soormally, all nominees were elected by acclamation. 🎉👏

IPP Adiilah, Ally, Bob, Kamalakshi, Wendy, Yeshnav and Hemlesh took the floor to share their reflections, reminding us that the true strength of FTC lies in its people.As President, Khadiime reflected on the journey of the year 2025-2026. The evening became a celebration of friendships built and milestones achieved together⚜️. A champagne toast 🍾🥂 brought the evening to a fitting close as members celebrated the journey.

We did not simply review a year. We honoured it. 💙
