We are a nonprofit educational organisation, committed to empower individuals through personal growth, leadership, and communication skills.

We are a group of friendly people who meet on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of every month from 5:45-8pm in the Voila Hotel, Bagatelle Mall, Moka. Many of the members come directly from work as it is conveniently placed between Port Louis and Ebene. There are even small light snacks during the break to satisfy the small hunger. Our name is Financial Toastmaster Club, but this is just a name. We welcom

e members and guests from many professions, so whatever your profession you are very welcome to join us. Would you like to improve your public speaking skills, learn to communicate, improve your self confidence or just make new friends? Some meetings leave a lasting impression, not because of a single moment, but because they remind us how far we have travelled together 💙

The energy quickly shifted as members took part in a lively Table Topics Musical Chair session 🎶💃🕺. From creative answers to unexpected twists, spontaneity ruled the room. Members including Bob, Ally, Kamalakshi, Jemma, Yeshnav, Yannick and Salman stepped up to the challenge, bringing plenty of laughter and unforgettable moments.

Following a warm break over refreshments ☕🍪, we moved into the Annual General Meeting, a time to celebrate what FTC achieved together during the past year.

The Auditor's Report was presented, followed by reports from Treasurer Aneesha, VPE Nabilah, VPM Salman, Secretary Ramjay and SAA Yannick. Each report highlighted the dedication, teamwork and commitment that helped shape another meaningful chapter in FTC's story. 🌟

A key milestone of the evening was the election of the incoming Executive Committee for 2026-2027. Led by Election Convenor IPP Adiilah Soormally, all nominees were elected by acclamation. 🎉👏

The Moments of Truth segment 🎤 then opened the floor to reflections from our members. IPP Adiilah, Ally, Bob, Kamalakshi, Wendy, Yeshnav and Hemlesh took the floor to share their reflections, reminding us that the true strength of FTC lies in its people.As President, Khadiime reflected on the journey of the year 2025-2026. The evening became a celebration of friendships built and milestones achieved together⚜️. A champagne toast 🍾🥂 brought the evening to a fitting close as members celebrated the journey.

We did not simply review a year. We honoured it. 💙

A legacy is not built in a day, it is woven through every event delivered, every role embraced and every challenge transformed into growth.

As every great journey deserves a memorable finale, we bring together all clubs of Area F02 for one final joint session of this Toastmasters year - not only to celebrate a year of achievements, but also to honour the people, connections, challenges and memories that made it extraordinary.

Clubs collaborated closely, members grew, contests flourished; and there was always enthusiasm, purpose and a touch of magic in the air. Together, we achieved the highest level of recognition in the Distinguished Area Program, becoming the 𝐟𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭 𝑷𝒓𝒆𝒔𝒊𝒅𝒆𝒏𝒕’𝒔 𝑫𝒊𝒔𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒈𝒖𝒊𝒔𝒉𝒆𝒅 𝑨𝒓𝒆𝒂 in District 129 for the year 2025-2026. After all, footnotes are read, but footprints are followed! 😉

This session marks the closing chapter of a remarkable journey and the celebration of a legacy of excellence built alongside a phenomenal team.

A little poetry book was opened at FTC Poets Society during our second session in May✨📖 and every role player helped write a new page in the story of FTC 📝

The evening began with a breathing exercise 🙋🏽‍♂️🌬️, creating an energised atmosphere for the session ahead. Wendy Lategan, our TMoD, guided the meeting with confidence and warmth 🎙️ while sharing a meaningful Toast of the Day on Carpe Diem, reminding everyone of the importance of embracing opportunities and living intentionally 🌟

Prepared speeches brought reflection, inspiration, and different perspectives to the stage 🎤. President Khadiime Jhumka speech on “Oops AI Did It Again” encouraged reflection on authenticity and communication in a changing world 🤖✨ while Kadeer Joomun, through “Years Old Dream”, shared a message centred around belief, purpose, and paying attention to the moments that shape personal growth 💭

Table Topics then challenged participants to think on their feet 🎤. Leena Aworer (guest), Zayn(guest), Pooja Bissoonauth(guest), Reshmi Nundloll, and President Khadiime Jhumka each brought their own energy and perspective to the stage, showing how spontaneous speaking often creates memorable moments 😊

Salman Kadir and Jemma van der Merwe offered thoughtful evaluations that transformed speeches into learning opportunities 🌟

The evening was then viewed through the lens of growth thanks to Ramjay Ackkooloo and his TAG team 👀🌱. Bob Ward kept track of language habits 👂, Deepa Nundloll enriched the session with the idiom “To beard the lion in its den” 🦁, and Hemlesh Greedharry ensured everything stayed perfectly timed ⏰

𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐚 𝐳𝐚𝐧𝐲 𝐅𝐓𝐂 𝐬𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐰𝐞 𝐡𝐚𝐝 🤩🔥. The room was buzzing with 35+ people, including 4 𝐂𝐥𝐮𝐛 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 👏, Toastmasters from Mozambique and Zambia 🌍, and the 𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐭 129 𝐄𝐯𝐚𝐥𝐮𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐢𝐨𝐧, Dr Ramya Kumar 🌟

The evening started with a laughter exercise by President Khadiime Jhumka that instantly filled the room with smiles and energy 😂 Soon after, our 𝐓𝐌𝐨𝐃 Adiilah Soormally took over and kept the atmosphere vibrant with music, dancing, and nonstop FUN🚀💃. Kamalakshi Dayal’s 𝐓𝐨𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐃𝐚𝐲 🥂 brought back childhood memories of simple fun, laughter, and carefree days ❤️

Things became even zanier with hula hoop challenges, teamwork games, and a hilarious blindfold challenge with a 1 min story 👀😂 Hemlesh Greedharry guessed a metal head massager, Mandy Mardiapoullé met the legendary quacky duck 🦆, President Sewin Sungkur (Elio TC) bravely tasted homemade cardamom tea ☕🌿, and Binela A***n (Bagatelle TC) had to identify a plant 🌱 which honestly looked suspicious enough to be mistaken for a snake 🐍😂

The 𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐬 brought inspiration and reflection 🎤 Salman Kadir shared his journey with dyslexia and showed the power of perseverance 🔥 Neel Bhantoa taught us with inspiring lessons and historical stories 📚 while Pallveena Bissessur reminded us how overthinking can turn one small doubt into a hundred imaginary disasters 🤯

During the business session, we proudly celebrated AD Adiilah Soormally being recognised as the 𝐁𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐀𝐫𝐞𝐚 𝐃𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐘𝐞𝐚𝐫 🏆👏Our 𝐓𝐓𝐌 Yashna Veera then filled the room with even more energy through fun and unexpected Table Topics 💖. DTM Liseli Muyenga gave a meaningful reflection on excellence 🌟 while Zain shared his personal journey with us. Reshmi Nundloll brought warmth through her beautiful storytelling ❤️ and Dr Ramya Kumar took everyone down memory lane with a hilarious birthday story that had the room laughing 😂🌍

The 𝐞𝐯𝐚𝐥𝐮𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐬𝐞𝐠𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 saw DTM Bob Ward, DTM Padmini Lareine , and President Khadiime Jhumka sharing golden nuggets of feedback 💎 before General Evaluator Jemma and her tag team, Ramjay Ackkooloo as Timer ⏰, Kadeer Joomun as Ah Counter 🎙️, and Wendy Lategan as Grammarian 📖 wrapped up the evening beautifully!

What if, just for one evening, we allowed our words dance a little lighter and our laughter ring a little louder? Makes our stage come alive with pure joy, isn’t it?

From beginning to end, When Words Fall Short carried a beautiful mix of laughter and heartfelt moments 💛✨

From the very beginning, the tone was beautifully set by our TMoD, Mandy Mardiapoullé⁩ 🥳🔥 The Theme of the Day activity brought energy and a meaningful reminder that communication goes far beyond words. Through gestures alone, connection and understanding naturally unfolded across the room 🤭

The Toast of the Day by Padmini Lareine offered a gentle reflection on leadership and the importance of stepping forward when it matters most 💫 A message that resonated with quiet strength and simplicity.

The prepared speeches brought thoughtful perspectives. Neel Bhantoa invited reflection on an important topic, while Yashna Veera delivered her Ice Breaker with courage and authenticity in front of a large audience 👏 Each speech contributed to a deeper sense of awareness and growth 🌿

The Table Topics session, led by Yannick Puri⁩, created space for meaningful reflections 🌟 Contributions from Reshmi Nundloll⁩, Riona Peedoly (guest), ⁨Jemma van der Merwe⁩, and Karuna Puri added sincerity and depth 💭 Their responses highlighted inspiration and the experiences that shape individual journeys ❤️

A lively laughter session by DTM Ravin Lama then filled the room with joy and connection ✨ Through engaging exercises and a masterclass on humour in speaking, valuable insights were shared on how to bring lightness and authenticity into communication 🗣️💎
