A few kilometres from Centre de Flacq, some beautifully painted temples have been built right on the seashore at Poste de Flacq in a unique atmosphere of spiritual retreat. Inhabitants of Flacq heavily depend on vegetable and sugar cane plantations. More recently, the construction of many luxury hotels on the coastal regions has, in many ways, created thousands of job for the inhabitants.
