Malawi Defence Force Begins SOP Amendment Exercise
The success of every mission depends on clear procedures, disciplined ex*****on, and continuous improvement.
In line with this commitment, the Malawi Defence Force (MDF) through the Department of Policy and Plans is running a 2 day Exercise on the Amendment of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) at Linde Motel in Mponela, Dowa to strengthen understanding, ensure alignment with current policies, and enhance operational efficiency across all units.
Chaired by the Chief of Policy and Plans at the Malawi Defence Force Headquarters, Brig Gen D Kuwali, the exercise is highlighting the importance of regularly reviewing and updating SOPs to address evolving requirements, improve coordination, and reinforce accountability at every level of command. Participants are given the opportunity to revisit key procedural changes, discuss their practical application, and clarify responsibilities in implementation.
Through this exercise, Malawi Defence Force personnel are reminded that SOP amendments are not merely administrative updates, but essential measures that support readiness, professionalism, and mission accomplishment.
By keeping procedures relevant and well understood, the MDF ensures that every member remains prepared to respond effectively, lawfully, and with discipline.This execrise is also emphasizing the value of unity, communication, and shared commitment in carrying out institutional improvements. With informed personnel and standardized guidance, the command continues to uphold excellence in service and organizational effectiveness. The exercise will run from 11th to 12th June, 2026.
