Thangadzi Lodge Thangadzi River Conservancy is a 800ha wildlife reserve located in the Lower Shire Valley of Malawi Our 5 Chalet Lodge is due to open early in 2023.

This is a unique birding destination combining the wonderful Elephant Marsh and 800ha of indigenous riparian forest within which we find over 320 species of birds and a wide range of plains game and some buffalo.

The rains will (hopefully) be easing soon, leaving everything lush, green, and full of life.

There’s a quiet shift happening here — a sense that a new season is just around the corner.

With some exciting new things underway and a truly wonderful new team on board, there’s a fresh energy at the lodge that we can’t wait to share.

We’re looking forward to welcoming guests and volunteers again — to the work, the people, and all the moments in between that make this experience so special.
