Today, the Mighty University of Malawi (UNIMA) MCP Wing successfully conducted its First Year Welcoming Function. The event was organized to officially welcome first-year students into the UNIMA family and into the Malawi Congress Party.

The function was well-attended by both first-year and continuing students. Despite the last-minute change of venue from Zomba Botanical Gardens, which was fully booked, students turned up in large numbers. Many were dressed in MCP regalia, showcasing the spirit of 🔥🇲🇼🐓.

The main objective of the function was to orient new students on the values and vision of the Malawi Congress Party and to encourage active youth participation in politics and national development.

As the Executive, we took time to:

1. Welcome first-year students to the University of Malawi.
2. Explain the ideology of MCP and the role of students in the party.
3. Encourage unity, discipline, and academic excellence among members.

The event started at 2:00 PM and continued to late hours in a very interactive and celebratory mood.

As the Wing President, I thanked all students for their patience regarding the venue change and for their massive turnout. I also emphasized that the youth are the future of the party and the nation, and that the UNIMA MCP Wing remains committed to defending student welfare and promoting youth empowerment.

The Mighty UNIMA MCP Wing considers the function a great success. We thank all students, especially the first years, who joined us today. We remain committed to building a strong, united, and ideologically clear student wing.

We continue to invite all UNIMA students who believe in the MCP vision to join the Wing.
