Between April 2020 and April 2025, Wings CRS saved approximately 10,000 lives from starvation and 3500 lives from dehydration in 4 separate emergency feeding missions conducted in the Philippines and Mexico. We accomplished all 4 missions under $55,000 with the average mission lasting 10 months.
The tragedy was these communities were the poorest of the poor and not one other relief group operating on huge donations stepped in. In fact many fled. Wings CRS fulfilled our commitment to the “least of these” by being there in their darkest hours.
What is the future of our mission? I don’t know. Perhaps we already fulfilled our purpose to be there for these 10,000 lives during their darkest hours.
But I would love to believe those who can’t yet successfully deliver major funding to us, citing the financial system is too volatile to release the hundreds of millions of dollars it would require to adequately serve humanity globally with the worlds first rapid-rescue response coupled with a recovery and resilience program.
But I say this is precisely the time in history Wings CRS was built for. A world in crisis. A world in need. This requires resilience on all our parts.
