On and off duty we Leo’s, along with many other people, try and help people and make a difference. Sometimes in our own back yard, and sometimes in someone else’s backyard.

The other day I had the privilege to meet these two young homeless boys while assisting an organization who has helped feed the homeless the last few months. We gave them food to take to their families.

I know some homeless have a choice and some do not. These two boys did not have a choice. I was glad to be apart of handing out dinners to them as wells as others.

We also handed out a lot of information to try and get them off the street. Hopefully some will take the extended hand and get off the streets. Especially when they have kids they need to think about.

Wifey: babe can u go to Costco and get a coupe things.
Me: sure. And thought to myself...a couple things....time to dust off the convertible.
While at Costco, I of course have to go down the majority of certain aisles to see whats new. Especially the food and spices as I like to cook. Come on now, I’m not the only one that does this.
Half way through, I call the wife and ask her do we need this or that. She says yes to, like a coupe things. I said yes to way more stuff. 🤦

Had to fill the trunk and put the top down to get it all in there, but made it home, barely. So who else takes a convertible to Costco? Should have took my truck. 🤦🤦🤦

Another hero who helped save the life of a citizen in the community he works in.

With all the negative posts, let’s shed the light with the media what officers really are all about. Serving, protecting, helping and saving the lives of people we often don’t even know. And here he and a bystander put their lives on the line for a stranger. Good job deputy and to the bystander for a job well done.

First, I would like to say Happy Fathers Day to all you dads out there. This is a little long, but hey, might be worth your read.

Being a father is the best thing, but it isn’t easy. Kids don’t come with an owner’s manual. But there is an owner’s manual that can help. It’s called the bible. With everything going on in this world from shootings, stabbings, rioting, racism, drugs, alcohol, s*x, violence, gangs, crimes, and everything else in between, I am calling out all you fathers. Calling you out to take action, take control of what you can teach your kids. Be there for them, love, them, discipline when needed..even if that means whooping their butts..

The bible says to honor your father and your mother. Exodus 20:12

Children, obey your parents in everything, for this pleases the Lord.21 Fathers, do not embitter your children, or they will become discouraged. Colossians 3: 20-21.

1 Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. 2 “Honor your father and mother”—which is the first commandment with a promise— 3 “so that it may go well with you and that you may enjoy long life on the earth.” 4 Fathers, do not exasperate your children; instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord. Ephesians 6:1-4

So teach this to your kids. It really isn’t that hard.

Dads, I still learn from these verses. I may not make all the best decisions all the time, and my kids have been mad at me before, and I am sure will be mad at me again. And I am ok with that if they are learning. But I will never allow my children to disrespect me, my wife, the law, including Police officers, the elders, and family without consequences. It is unacceptable what I see out there, and I often wonder who raised those kids. Some parents should be ashamed. Yes there are some who do their best, and the kid just goes south. I get that. But the majority, are parents who don’t care, and are too afraid to take action, or just give up. What parent allows their own children to do this type of behavior? Who teaches their kids to fight to solve problems, with guns, knives, or violence? Who teaches them about racism? Who is afraid of there own kids? Fathers, you are men, be a man, and act like one and teach your children. Wives, (some, not all). The man/father will be the one standing before God when its his time as God put him the head of the household. Let him lead. No we are not always right. But talk about it. But if the father says no, I’m not ok with my children having s*x, doing drugs, violence, saggy pants, or whatever else is going on, don’t just say i don’t care or its ok, its not, wake up. And fathers, love your wives. Us men struggle here too, including me. Have you ever seen your wife sleeping, and thought, that woman right there is my rock, by amazing beautiful bride whom I chose to be with the rest of my life..she deserves everything. I have had that thought many times. I also fall short many times. But marriage is another conversation for another time.

Submit to one another out of reverence for Christ. Wives, submit yourselves to your own husbands as you do to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church, his body, of which he is the Savior. Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit to their husbands in everything (this does not mean you own your wife and you rule all). Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her to make her holy, cleansing, her by the washing with water through the word, and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless. In this same way, husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself. Ephesians 5:21-28

You want your kids having kids at 15, or do you want them to finish high school, go to college, and be successful first. You want your kids ending up on the front page of a newspaper for committing crimes, dying in a DUI accident, being the one who did one of theses senseless shootings/killings? Well then stop with allowing them to do worldly things, do what there friends do or do what society says is ok (I have come to find that society needs an butt whooping too, and some are as dumb as a box of rocks). It’s not ok, so stop. Be a man. Be a father. Be a husband. Be a parent. Because if you think it wont happen to your kids, think again. Those kids that it has happened to, I am sure their parents thought the same thing. So here are some tips I have seen or learned, kind of like a recipe for raising kids, or an owner’s manual from many fathers who have written in this book, in no particular order;

• Be a father first. You can be there friend later.
• Talk to them, don’t be afraid to talk to and teach them about peer pressure.
• Talk to them, don’t be afraid to talk to and teach them about s*x.
• Talk to them, don’t be afraid to talk to and teach them about drugs.
• Talk to them, don’t be afraid to talk to and teach them about gangs.
• Talk to them, don’t be afraid to talk to and teach them about alcohol.
• Talk to them, don’t be afraid to talk to and teach them about how to have fun.
• Talk to them, don’t be afraid to discipline them. Yes, it is ok to s***k your children still. Not with a metal rod of course, be smart.
• Talk to them, don’t be afraid to talk to and teach them about honesty, integrity, admitting when they have made a mistake, and help them learn from that mistake. My dad always told me the two things that you will have to help you in life are your honor, and your credit. Thanks Dad for teaching me that.
• Talk to them, don’t be afraid to talk to and teach them about how to treat a woman. Come on lady’s help me here. Teach them to open a door. This goes back centuries ago. I rarely see a man open the door for a woman. I still open the door for my wife. Ok, she beats me to is sometimes. But I still do it.
• Talk to them, don’t be afraid to talk to and teach them that it is not ok to put your hands on a woman. Ok now to be fare, self-defense is one thing. But you still can hold instead of hit, you don’t have to beat the heck out of a woman in self-defense. But out of anger…Never should you touch a woman.
• Talk to them, don’t be afraid to talk to and teach them about love and that racism is not ok. We are all equal. We are all one race. The human race. They will follow you as their father, trust me. By loving to your wife, friends, family, and all people, They will learn it, and know that love will always win. Jesus said “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. John 13:34.
• Talk to them, don’t be afraid to talk to and teach about communication. Ok lady’s how many will say men cant communicate. Its not that men cant, some may have not been taught. So help teach them already. In our defense, many have been taught, you just don’t like the answer..lol. jk.
• Talk to them, don’t be afraid to talk to and teach about respect. Respect themselves, parents, adults, police, authority, people etc.
• Talk to them, don’t be afraid to talk to and teach about being a man, so that they can teach there kids the above, and learn it and repeat it to make this world a better place.

Think about it. Who will be president, police, doctors, who will be involved in our government, bill making, etc. Our children. That’s who. Teach them; help make a difference in the lives of the one(s) you brought into this world.

Ok, Im done. I could go on. Together we can be the change that we want to see happen to make this world a better place for us all. Thanks for reading this. If I have offended you with this, sorry. Have a great rest of the month.

Camping with my grandkids. What a blast. Aren’t they cute. And who doesn’t like some good s’mores. Not only does chocolate melt, but so does my heart with these kids. Just missing one of them. Love them all.
