Announcing our new show. My Big Fat Murderous Mexican Wedding. Characters are as larger as life from the time you arrive, and you will become part of the tableau, as you become witness, sleuth and, perhaps, also accomplice to the crime. If you choose to play a role you could even turn out to be the murderer! Between parts of the mystery theatre show, dinner courses are served. Towards the end everyone is challenged to determine the method of the crime, the motivation for it, and the perpetrator.
Tuesdays at 5pm on the beach terrace for sunset drinks with the cast then in the special “Murder” venue room, at the wonderful Las Flores Hotel in the Golden Zone. Join us to see some of the newest, third, show. At the price of a drink it has to be a great value fun afternoon. Last year at Macaws, this year this one off will happen at Water's Edge.

A bit of fun tomorrow afternoon over a drink? Want to see Bodie Kellogg at his best? Some may remember that in December last year we invited people to a dress rehearsal of parts of our first Murder Mystery Dinner Theatre show. We had it in the courtyard of Macaws.
We will do a similar thing tomorrow afternoon. The script of our third, the newest, show is still being polished so this will not be a dress rehearsal, we will be reading the lines so we can't even call it a preview, but for those with a sense of humour and an interest in such shows, it will still be a fun event. Just buy a drink at the venue, Waters Edge on Sixto Osuna in Centro, in the courtyard at the back. Start time 2pm.

Try something new? Many of us are here because we are adventurous. Income and a new challenge, and satisfaction?
Murder in Mexico continues to search for people who would enjoy acting in our weekly evening murder mystery dinner theatre shows. We are now only requiring a commitment, one afternoon/night a week (after lines are learned which will take a number of weeks), through until mid April if we can get it, or minimally, the end of March.
January will see our new, best ever, production, My Big Fat Murderous Mexican Wedding. What fun for you to be part of it. Come on, you only live once, give it a go! Emails only please, social media is for social stuff, it is too hard to do business in, [email protected].

There is one suspect, role-playing guest, seat available for this week's show, Tuesday 24th November. We are waiving the additional fee to play a role. Drum up another 7 people and everybody pays only $517 per ticket, great value for such full entertainment, exceptional quality food and drinks, and seriously good fun. Come on, you could fill that seat with great style and entertain your friends, and yourself, famously!

Went to the NCY murder mystery dinner theatre. I came home with the best actress award. Well, I certainly hope so! When I was called up to play a role, I was told by the Detective "so, you call yourself Wendy, but I know that really you are Kitty, the madam of New York's most prestigious brothel." He then asked me about my establishment's involvement with Eliot Switzer. Whatever the joke was going to be, I regret that I was unable to help the Detective with it.
When he began to discuss with me the possibility of him visiting my establishment, and that he would be hoping for some level of price reduction because he works for the people of the city, imagine that I told the audience ""Oh Detective, you are just saying that because all these people are listening. Really, everybody, he has a regular appointment at 6 o'clock on Thursdays. Not only does he not get a discount, but we have to charge him double, because after he has been looked after (holding my hands apart as though showing how large the fish was) the poor girl is indisposed and unable to work for the rest of the night. And she's no amateur, he is always looked after by THE HEAD GIRL - you know, the one with the calluses on her knees."
Okay, the last two lines are out of our new show The Hacienda Homicide. How's that for serendipity?
PS, I later learned that Eliot Switzer was a New York councilman who had to resign because he was found spending public funds on prostitutes.
And the NYC show? Brilliant, breathtakingly good production, spectacular acting, but Murder in Mexico shows plots, and the way our guest suspects are woven in, are better. Yay!

Start spreading the news. I'm leaving today. I am off to New York City. This time last year Bodie and I went to Los Angeles and also San Diego, to see some successful murder mystery dinner theatre shows up there before we began rehearsals for our (My Big Fat Mexican Murder. One of the shows we saw on that trip has been running for 26 years.
This trip is to see New York's most successful murder mystery dinner theatre show, which has been running for 18 years. We think the fresh overview will be a fillip for us for our new show The Hacienda Homicide which we hope will start within weeks, and also for our other new show My Big Fat Murderous Mexican Wedding which will start a bit later. That one should be particular fun for destination wedding groups in Mazatlan.
After enormous efforts we have put in place some changes and improvements to the staging arrangements, including sound. The improvements are intended to move us up into the category of world-class entertainment. So a comparison with the best New York show is a timely assignment.
If there is anything you'd like us to include in the new shows, or you have any thoughts on staging, we would always love to hear.
I hope our next mailout will give a first start date, finally. Meantime, if you want to ensure you or someone you know can get seats during a particular period, and you haven't already asked us to note your request, please email us or PM me with your email so we make sure nobody else jumps in ahead. This year the venue is larger, but seats are even more sought after so ...

We have been fortunate in our search for a new female member of our team for the next show, and Denise Walstead is such a great actor and personality that instead of understudying me she is taking over my role entirely. I will continue to produce and direct. We consider ourselves lucky to have found her, welcome to the team Denise. News soon about the start date of the new show.

Bodie Kellogg and I have been working hard - learning lines for Hacienda Homicide - Murder in Mexico, the 2nd show to My Big Fat Mexican Murder. The new show (to run alongside MBFMM once or twice in summer then throughout the winter season), is great. A bit different but still witty, funny, and with surprises. This is also the time of final editing and polishing. So this is the time for people to let us know if there is anything in particular they want covered, included, left out, etc. wendy at murderinmexico dot com. We look forward to feedback.
