Families of Graduates! ๐Ÿ“ข This season can feel overwhelming too.

After graduation, students are suddenly faced with many choices:
- Colleges and universities
- Careers and internships
- Certifications and training programs
- Moving away from home
- Financial decisions and responsibilities

There are many good opportunities out there, but there can also be confusing information, pressure, scams, and situations where young people may be taken advantage of.

One of the best ways families can help is by walking beside them through the process:
โœ” Visit schools together
โœ” Help review job opportunities
โœ” Connect them with trusted professionals and mentors
โœ” Encourage questions and conversations
โœ” Share your own experiences such as what helped and what you wish you knew

Support and guidance can make a lasting difference during this transition. ๐ŸŒฑ

Every community carries knowledge, creativity, and wisdom worth sharing. From scholarships, internships, cultural programs, youth camps, mentorships, local events, food drives, wellness resources, or even words of encouragement! Someone in our community may need the resource YOU know about.๐Ÿชถ

IRD wants to create a space where we can learn from each other and uplift one another. ๐ŸŒฑ

Graduation season is here and we want to hear from our community. ๐ŸŒฑ๐ŸŽ“

What is one thing you wish you knew after graduating high school or college?

Maybe it was:
- A piece of advice that helped you
- A mistake you learned from
- Something that helped your career
- Encouragement from family or community
- A reminder that helped you keep going

To our graduates and students finishing finals this week:
You do not have to have everything figured out right away. Growth takes time, and many opportunities come through simply showing up, asking questions, meeting people, and staying open to learning.

Drop your advice, encouragement, or life lesson in the comments for the next generation of our indigenous students and graduates. ๐Ÿ’›

Parents, guardians, or even older siblings this post could be a good outlet to start conversations and help relieve stress for our current students/graduates. Feel free to read these comments out loud to reassure our youth that everything is simply going to be okay.๐Ÿฆ‹

Letโ€™s support each other through this next chapter together, as a community! ๐ŸŒฝ

Finals week is here. Finish strong! Our ancestors survived hard seasons so you could stand where you are today . You are doing the same for the next generation!

Dear Native students,
Every late night, every assignment, every exam, and every moment you questioned yourself matters. Your education is not only for you, but it is also for your family, your community, and the generations still coming after you.

In many of our Indigenous teachings, we are reminded to โ€œwalk in beautyโ€ and continue forward with balance, discipline, and purpose. Even during difficult stretches, the last part of the journey is often the hardest, but it is also where growth happens.

As you move through this week:
- Rest when you can (6 - 7 hrs of sleep ๐Ÿ’ค)
- Ask for help when needed (Professors LOVE transparency and questions โ‰๏ธ)
Encourage your friends and classmates (coffee and library dates? โ˜•๏ธ๐Ÿ“š)
- Remember why you started ( to meet goals ๐ŸŽฏ)
- Keep showing up for yourself ๐ŸŒฟ

Whether you are finishing a semester, preparing to graduate, or taking one more step toward your goals , IRD is so proud of you.

You belong in these spaces.
Keep going. We are rooting for you. ๐ŸŽ“โœจ
