Aquí los visitantes son más jóvenes y a veces te transmiten el sentimiento de mochileros y de la cultura hippie. “Extremo Sur del Cielo” en el chino Hainan. Viniendo de San Agustinillo, en la entrada de Mazunte, hay el "Centro Mexicano de la Tortuga" y el museo de la tortuga. Aquí hay diferentes tipos de gigantescas tortugas marítimas, protegidas en un acuario y criadero. Tres veces al año (diciembre, abril y una vez durante el verano) puedes tomar parte en la "liberación", la liberación de cientos de bebé-tortugas. Playa y mar
El oleaje es generalmente tranquilo pero es mejor nadar en la parte oeste, en el así llamado "Rinconcito". Aquí también hay corrientes internas y las olas chocan en la orilla del mar. ¡Ten cuidado! Perfecto para esnorkelear es la parte este, en frente del museo de las tortugas. Entrate solo unos metros al agua y ya estas en un acuario de coral. Hospedaje

Cada restaurante o casi cada casa ofrece pescado y frutas del mar – Mazunte tambien es un pueblo de los pescadores! Ademas ya llegó la fracción McPizza. At the western end of Mazuntes beach you can make a 30 minutes walk-tour to the point most south of Oaxaca – Punta Cometa. The half round rock formation reaches out into the sea, young locals are fishing from up in the stones. Sunrises and sunsets there are unbelievable beautiful and you can compare it with that of “Southern End of Heaven” on Chinas Hainan-Island. Coming from San Agustinillo at the entrance to Mazunte you will find the "Centro Mexicano de la Tortuga" with its turtle museum. There are different kinds of huge sea-turtles protected in an aquarium and young ones are bread. Surf is generally tranquil and swimming is best at the west end of the beach, the so-called "Riconcito". There is nearly no undertow but waves break very close to the shore, so take care. Ideal for snorkeling is the eastern end of Mazuntes beach, in front of the turtle museums backside. Just enter the water and after some meters you will find yourself amidst a coral aquarium. Every restaurant or nearly every house in Mazunte offers fresh fish and sea fruits - Mazunte is a fishing village :-) Beside that the McPizza-fraction has also reached Mazunte. A natural cosmetic shop located on the mainstreet at the end of the village (direction Ventanilla) sells local produced articles. On the beach sellers from around offer beautiful multicolored hamocks, shirts and trousers. So don´t be naughty and bring your parents a handmade hammock fresh from the hammock-paradise Costa Chica!
