🔥🐺
Ahead of the recent increased fire risk and activity in B.C., we began working with our partners at the Canadian Interagency Forest Fire Centre (CIFFC) to import crews and resources to support wildfire response in B.C.
As a result, we are looking forward to the support of personnel from several agencies arriving in B.C. in the coming days.
🔥 25 personnel from Yukon Protective Services arrive July 27
🔥 66 personnel from Alberta Wildfire arrive July 28
🔥 114 personnel from Mexico arrive August 3
Emergency response doesn't happen alone, when wildfire activity increases agencies across Canada and internationally work together to support one another. These additional personnel help strengthen our response capacity, allowing us to continue responding safely and effectively across the province. They also allow us to ensure crews in B.C. have time to rest and reset at home between operational deployments.
We are grateful for the continued partnership and support of our wildfire community and continue to engage with CIFFC and other resource sharing partners to secure additional resources over the coming weeks.
Welcome to B.C., and thank you for standing with us this wildfire season.
