The official launch featured speeches from leaders of Informa Markets Malaysia, MPRC and PETRONAS, reinforcing the importance of industry resilience and global competitiveness.

MPRC Board Member, Datin Dr. Ts. Habsah Nordin, highlighted MPRC’s efforts in guiding local OGSE companies through the energy transition and the Growth Beyond OGSE Programme.

🌏 EIC Connect OGA - "From Resources to Resilience: Shaping the Ecosystem, Securing Regional Energy Future"

This programme brought together industry experts, financial institutions, and OGSE players to empower OGSE businesses with the financial knowledge and strategies needed to strengthen business resilience and unlock sustainable growth.

MPRC concluded the Sabah and Sarawak editions of the MPRC Industry Engagement Series: Strengthening Sustainability Practices and GHG Management, held in Kota Kinabalu on 18 August and Miri on 20 August 2026, equipping OGSE companies with practical knowledge and tools to strengthen their sustainability practices and reporting capabilities.

The Sabah edition was opened by Mr. Allen Chia, Vice President, Government Affairs & Corporate Services, SMJ Energy Sdn Bhd, while the Sarawak edition commenced with welcoming remarks by Ms. Lo Sheau Sia, Deputy Permanent Secretary, Ministry of International Trade, Industry and Investment (MINTRED), Sarawak.

Across both sessions, OGSE companies gained insights into the OGSE100 FY2024 industry outlook, MPRC facilitation programmes, Malaysia’s sustainability and decarbonisation direction, ESG reporting and GHG emissions baselining.

Through the hands-on Accelerated Sustainability Reporting Workshop, participants applied MPRC’s National OGSE Sustainability Framework (NOS-F) Basic Pathway and Fundamental ESG Disclosure Workbook to assess ESG data readiness, identify gaps and develop a structured first disclosure draft and roadmap for stronger sustainability reporting.
