Malaysia-Indonesia Connective Night 2026

Held in conjunction with the Indonesia Technology & Innovation (INTI) Expo 2026, the Malaysia-Indonesia Connective Night brought together key players from both countries to strengthen connections and explore opportunities for cross-border collaboration under the Global Testbed & Sandbox Alliance (GTSA) Programme.

Organised in collaboration between MRANTI and KUMPUL, the networking session brought together 35 Indonesian ecosystem players and 30 Malaysian ecosystem players, creating a valuable platform for innovators, industry representatives, investors, and ecosystem partners to connect and exchange ideas.

The session opened new opportunities for business matching, strategic partnerships, technology collaboration, and market access between Malaysia and Indonesia, further strengthening the innovation ecosystem between Malaysia and Indonesia.

Courtesy Visit by Mr. Suresh Kumar R. Palasanthiran, Trade Commissioner of MATRADE Jakarta to the Malaysia-MRANTI Pavilion at the Indonesia Technology & Innovation (INTI) Expo 2026

The Malaysia-MRANTI Pavilion welcomed Mr. Suresh Kumar R. Palasanthiran during his visit to the INTI Expo 2026 where he engaged with Malaysian technology companies and explored opportunities to strengthen Malaysia-Indonesia collaboration.

The visit also highlighted MATRADE Jakarta’s commitment in supporting the Global Testbed & Sandbox Alliance (GTSA) Programme particularly to connect Malaysian innovators with the right industry partners, business networks, and market opportunities in Indonesia.

Moving forward, MATRADE Jakarta will also support GTSA participants through export facilitation and market access assistance, helping Malaysian technology companies navigate opportunities and expand their presence in the Indonesian market.

Global Testbed & Sandbox Alliance (GTSA) at Indonesia Technology & Innovation (INTI) Expo 2026

GTSA participated in the INTI Expo 2026 under Malaysia-MRANTI Pavilion showcasing together with 5 NTIS Applicants emoovit, Alphaswift Industries, Billion Prima, MySpatial Sdn Bhdl and Urban Explorer

The participation provided a platform for Malaysian technology companies to connect with Indonesian government agencies, industry players, investors and ecosystem partners, while exploring opportunities for cross-border collaboration, technology testing, validation and market access.

The mission also resulted in meaningful engagements and collaboration including MoU exchanges between Malaysian and Indonesian organisations.

Through GTSA, further facilitation to go to international market through technology testing, validation, pilot deployment and cross-border commercialisation between Malaysia and Indonesia.

[3 August 2026] Malaysia–Hong Kong Low Altitude Economy (LAE) Regulatory Sandbox Exchange 🇲🇾🇭🇰

Malaysian Research Accelerator for Technology & Innovation (MRANTI) successfully hosted the Malaysia–Hong Kong Low Altitude Economy (LAE) Regulatory Sandbox Exchange at MRANTI Innovation Park, welcoming 30 delegates from Hong Kong led by The Honourable, Madam Elizabeth Quat, Legislative Council Member, Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) and Founding President of the Greater Bay Area Low-altitude Economy Alliance (GBA). The programme served as a strategic platform to strengthen bilateral cooperation in advancing the LAE through knowledge exchange, regulatory collaboration, and cross-border innovation between Malaysia and Hong Kong.

The programme featured presentations by MRANTI , Cradle Fund, Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation and Kairous Capital , showcasing Malaysia's innovation ecosystem, regulatory sandbox initiatives, cross-border support and investment opportunities, alongside insights from the GBA and Hong Kong technology companies on the region's Low Altitude Economy (LAE) ecosystem. The engagement concluded with a Malaysia–Hong Kong LAE Sandbox Roundtable involving representatives from ministries, government agencies, regulators, universities, industry, investors and associations to discuss regulatory collaboration, airspace governance, technology validation, commercialisation, talent development and cross-border innovation through regulatory sandbox approaches.

The exchange marks the beginning of a stronger Malaysia–Hong Kong partnership in the Low Altitude Economy (LAE). Through the Global Testbed & Sandbox Alliance (GTSA), MRANTI will continue to facilitate cross-border collaboration in joint technology testbeds, regulatory cooperation, talent development and industry partnerships, while positioning MRANTI AREA57 as a regional innovation sandbox for LAE solutions.

World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) Forum 2026 awarded the National Technology and Innovation Sandbox (NTIS) Programme as Champion under Category 14: Action Line C7. E-Science in Geneva, Switzerland.

By the leadership of MOSTI Kementerian Sains, Teknologi dan Inovasi (MOSTI), this achievement under 12th Malaysia Plan represents the collective efforts of MRANTI as Lead Secretariat, together with MIMOS Futurise, funding partner Malaysian Technology Development Corporation, regulatory bodies, industry partners, and innovators in accelerating Malaysia technology adoption and commercialisation for national impact.
