They are from the voluntary patrol units orthe Pasukan Peronda Sukarela (PPS) which aremade up of individuals who have volunteered theirservices to the community.The purpose of the PPS is to take care of the people’swelfare and security. They are the eyes of the com-munity. With the added
patrolling on foot or on mo-torbikes and recently even a boat unit has been set up,security can be beefed up

more effectively
为了确保槟州罪案率再下降，槟州政府发起成立了自愿巡逻队（PPS），以协助警方进行巡逻工作。
自愿巡逻队将和警方配合，协助维护社会安全，并将槟城打造为全国最安全的州属，这将协助造就槟城继续成为投资者和游客的首选州属。
成立自愿巡逻队的其中一项宗旨，是协助执法单位解决一些地区的不法活动。此外，自愿巡逻队也能为警方提供情报，共同预防和打击罪案，并与地方上的居民保持联系和良好的睦邻合作关系。
