𝐒𝐎𝐔𝐋 𝐎𝐅 𝐁𝐎𝐑𝐍𝐄𝐎 𝐆𝐀𝐋𝐀 𝐄𝐕𝐄𝐍𝐈𝐍𝐆

Hosted by the Ministry of Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts Sarawak (MTCP), the Soul of Borneo Gala Evening was held at voco Hotel, Kuching on 19 August 2026, in conjunction with PATA Travel Mart 2026.

The evening celebrated Sarawak’s role as host of this landmark international tourism gathering, bringing together tourism leaders, industry partners and stakeholders from across the Asia Pacific.

In his speech, the Premier of Sarawak, The Right Honourable Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Haji Abdul Rahman Zohari bin Tun Datuk Abang Haji Openg, highlighted that hosting PATA Travel Mart 2026 is both an honour and a responsibility for Sarawak. Sarawak has something meaningful to contribute to the future of tourism, not merely as a place to visit, but as a partner in shaping a more sustainable and inclusive destination.

One of the highlights from the evening was the revelation of Sarawak's new brand positioning, Sarawak: Gateway to Borneo reflects Sarawak's vision as the gateway to discover Borneo's rich culture, heritage, festivals, biodiversity and local communities. It also highlighted Sarawak's commitment to responsible tourism that benefits future generations.

The evening also witnessed the presentation of TOP 25 Restaurants in Sarawak, highlighting Sarawak's best culinary offerings. This recognition was founded by Mr Bernard Metzger to promote Sarawak’s food and dining scene.

Dimaklumkan bahawa permohonan Geran Acara dan Pesta di bawah Kementerian Pelancongan, Industri Kreatif dan Seni Persembahan Sarawak bagi tahun 2026 akan ditutup pada 25 September 2026.

Sehubungan itu, semua pihak yang berminat untuk memohon geran adalah dimohon untuk memastikan kertas cadangan dan dokumen sokongan yang lengkap dikemukakan sebelum atau pada tarikh tutup yang telah ditetapkan.

Permohonan yang diterima selepas tarikh tersebut tidak akan dipertimbangkan.
