Kumpulan B40 mengalami perbezaan kesihatan yang ketara dalam pengesanan awal kanser atas faktor sumber, akses, dan literasi kesihatan (celik kesihatan). Isu ini mengakibatkan kelangsungan hidup yang lebih rendah dalam kumpulan B40 yang menghidap kanser kerana persembahan kanser tahap akhir (cth: tahap 4). Walaupun terdapat banyak skim kesihatan kerajaan yang mensasarkan golongan miskin, pengesanan awal kanser terhalang oleh laluan diagnostik yang rumit dan bercelaru.

The B40 group suffers significant health disparities in early diagnosis of cancers due to limitations in resources, access and health literacy. This results in poorer survival rates in B40 patients with cancer due to late stage presentation. Despite numerous government health schemes targeting the poor, the complex and fragmented diagnostic pathway hinders early cancer diagnosis.
