Sabah Tourism Board (STB) and Scoot signed a three-year Memorandum of Collaboration (MoC) to strengthen air connectivity and jointly promote the state to travellers from Singapore and Scoot's wider international network.
The partnership will support Sabah's continued efforts to enhance accessibility to the destination through stronger airline collaborations, while increasing awareness of its diverse tourism offerings among travellers across key international markets.
The MoC was signed at Scoot’s office in Singapore by Mr Julinus Jeffery Jimit, Sabah Tourism Board Chief Executive Officer, and Ms Lau Hui Ling, Director of Marketing, Public Relations and Loyalty at Scoot. The signing ceremony was witnessed by Mr Calvin Chan, Chief Commercial Officer at Scoot, and Mr Ismail Mohamad Bkri, Deputy High Commissioner of Malaysia to Singapore, representing Her Excellency Datin Paduka Anizan Siti Hajjar Adnin, High Commissioner of Malaysia to Singapore. Also in attendance were Ms Tay Shu Lan, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Sabah Tourism Board, and Mr Muadz Samat, Deputy Director of Tourism Malaysia Singapore Office.
Sabah Minister of Tourism, Culture and Environment, YB Datuk Jafry Ariffin in a statement, said the collaboration reinforces Sabah's commitment to strengthening international connectivity and building strategic partnerships that support the continued growth of the tourism industry.
Through this partnership, Sabah Tourism Board and Scoot will collaborate on joint marketing and promotional initiatives to increase destination awareness, stimulate travel demand and encourage more travellers to explore Sabah. Currently, Scoot is connecting Singapore (SIN) to Kota Kinabalu (BKI) with 10x weekly flights.
