Pakistan High Commission in Malaysia, in collaboration with MAPIM, observed Youm-e-Istehsaal today.

Guest of Honour Cikgu Azmi Abdul Hamid (Sitara-e-Pakistan), President of MAPIM, and High Commissioner Syed Ahsan Raza Shah (who delivered the vote of thanks) joined Malaysian dignitaries, community leaders, and a large gathering of Pakistani and Malaysian friends.

Speakers strongly condemned India’s illegal unilateral revocation of the special status of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu & Kashmir (IIOJK), highlighting the atrocities of the occupation forces against innocent civilians, prolonged lockdowns and efforts to alter the demographic character of the disputed territory.

They demanded an independent, impartial plebiscite under UN auspices with international observers — reaffirming the Kashmiri people’s right to self-determination in accordance with UN Security Council resolutions.

Prayers were offered for the martyrs of the freedom movement. The Pakistani community turned out in force to express unwavering solidarity with the people of IIOJK.

High Commissioner Syed Ahsan Raza Shah welcomed Punjab Minister for Minorities Affairs Sardar Ramesh Singh Arora to the High Commission of Pakistan in Malaysia.

The discussion emphasized Pakistan’s steadfast commitment to safeguarding the rights and welfare of Pakistan's minority communities, alongside highlighting measures taken to facilitate religious pilgrims and Sikh yatrees from around the globe with world-class hospitality, security & travel services.

The interaction was also attended by distinguished leaders from the Malaysian Sikh community.

The High Commission hosted a ceremony today for the virtual signing of a MoU between the Islamabad Policy Research Institute-IPRI, Pakistan and the International Institute of Advanced Islamic Studies (IAIS) Malaysia .

Dr. Syed Azman Syed Ahmad Nawawi, Chief Executive Officer of the International Institute of Advanced Islamic Studies and President of IPRI, Lt. General Majid Ehsan signed the MoU on behalf of their respective institutes.

High Commissioner, Syed Ahsan Raza Shah welcomed the signing of the MoU and expressed satisfaction that the High Commission's initiative to bring the two premier institutions together had come to fruition.

The MoU between IPRI and IAIS would promote institutional cooperation through joint research, policy dialogue, academic exchanges, seminars, conferences, and other collaborative initiatives.
