The 2nd Safety & Health Forum 2017 organized by JKR Sarawak on 24-25 October 2017 at Imperial Hotel, Kuching.
In with theme of the forum “THINK SAFETY, WORK SAFELY”, JKR Sarawak is committed to identify, devise and promote activities to improve industry health and safety standards.
Its main objectives are to provide a convergence point for sharing of information & knowledge, identify solutions and stimulate action across the industry to ensure the health, safety and well-being of those working in the industry and those affected by its activities. It works by consensus and partnership, promoting good practice, sharing ideas and solutions.
The objective of this forum is to call together all occupational safety and health to discuss current developments as well as share best industry practices in safety and health. This event aims to facilitate the enhancement of OSH in our respective workplaces by inviting distinguished resource persons from both the government and private sector to tackle and discuss the latest updates and innovations in the field of occupational safety and health.
The 2nd Safety & Health Forum 2017 was officiated by YB Datuk Julaihi Narawi, Assistant Minister of Coastal Road. He also accompanied YBhg. Datu Ir. Haji Zuraimi Bin Haji Sabki, Director of Works of Sarawak to convey the Awards of Pengarah Kerja Raya Sarawak to those who have been selected for the 2016 on Best Health, Safety & Environment. Anugerah Pengarah Kerja Raya Sarawak for Project HSE Best Practises was inaugurated during JKR Sarawak Safety Forum 2015 on October 2015, with the aspiration to recognize construction industry key players, promoting quality and innovation, to emphasize effective management practice an also to elevate safety and Health practices.
Among the programs held were the launch of the OSH Manual & Safety Tagline of the Sarawak Public Works Department. On the second day, the program started with a dialogue session with YBhg. Tan Sri Datuk Seri Lee Lam Thye, Chairman of the National Institute of Occupational Safety & Health (NIOSH) with six invited experts speakers from NIOSH, CIDB, Shell, Lebuh Raya Borneo Utara and Principal Consultant, risk at workplaces pty ltd.t.
