This morning, we held the 1st Press Conference of the Sarawak SHInE International Conference 2026: Advancing Science, Health, Innovation and Engineering at the Sarawak Tropical Peat Research Institute. The event was graced by our Guest of Honour, The Honourable Dato Sri Roland Sagah Wee Inn, Minister for Education, Innovation and Talent Development, Sarawak.
Also present were The Honourable Datuk Francis Harden Hollis, Deputy Minister II for Education, Innovation and Talent Development Sarawak (Talent Development); Ts. Dr. Peter Morin Nissom, General Manager of the Sarawak Research and Development Council (SRDC) and Organising Chairman of SHInE 2026; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ivan K. S. Yap, Chief Executive Officer of the Sarawak Infectious Disease Centre (SIDC) and Organising Chairman of SHInE 2026; Dr Faustina Elfrida anak Sangok, representing YBhg. Datu Haji Adana bin Haji Jed, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Education, Innovation and Talent Development Sarawak; and Madam Anielia anak Siam, Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Education, Innovation and Talent Development Sarawak.
This milestone event marks the official lead-up to SHInE 2026, a multidisciplinary conference that brings together experts, researchers, industry leaders, and innovators to exchange ideas, foster collaboration, and explore solutions across science, health, innovation, and engineering.
