Progressive Democratic Party (PDP) Pemuda believes political differences should never stand in the way of serving the people.
In his recent podcast interview, Mas Gading MP YB Mordi Bimol himself said that political parties may compete during elections, but elected representatives should work together afterwards.
We agree. PDP is a component party of Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS), and we are proud to support a coalition that has provided Sarawak with political stability, continuity and a clear focus on development.
That does not mean every administrative decision is beyond criticism. Where there are problems, they should be identified and corrected. Where cooperation is needed, elected representatives should sit down and work together.
However, serious allegations must also be supported by serious evidence.

During the interview, YB Mordi described the REDEEMS Centre incident as โsabotageโ and stated that he had evidence to support that allegation.
If deliberate political interference genuinely occurred, then the evidence should be brought forward. The public deserves to know who issued the instruction, under what authority it was issued and what actually happened.
If any individual deliberately obstructed a legitimate government program benefiting hundreds of people, PDP Pemuda will not defend such conduct simply because of political affiliation.
At the same time, broad allegations should not be allowed to cast suspicion over government agencies, administrators or community institutions without identifying the alleged wrongdoing.
The same applies to claims that Ketua Masyarakat and Ketua Kaum were discouraged or prevented from approaching the Mas Gading MP Service Centre for assistance.
Datuk Henry Harry Jinep, State Assemblyman for Tasik Biru and Deputy President of PDP, has already clarified that KMKK within Tasik Biru have never been prohibited from seeking allocations from YB Mordi.
If there are specific cases where any village leader was genuinely threatened, intimidated or penalized merely for approaching an elected Member of Parliament, then those cases should be identified and properly examined.
Our KMKK are there to serve their communities. They should not become political pawns for either side.

PDP Pemuda also agrees that programs such as the B2 motorcycle license initiative should benefit the people without becoming political battlegrounds.

If there was an administrative problem, resolve it. If procedures need improvement, improve them. If there was deliberate political interference, prove it.
Public facilities are ultimately there to serve the people, but they also operate under management procedures and responsibilities.
The real issue should therefore be simple: was proper procedure followed, and was any procedure improperly used for political purposes?
That question should be answered with facts, not insinuations.

PDP Pemuda believes Sarawakians should also consider the wider picture.
GPS brings together Sarawak-based parties with different grassroots backgrounds but a common responsibility towards the State.
PDP, PBB, PRS and SUPP may not agree on every individual matter, but we understand that governing requires stability, cooperation and continuity.
Political stability allows Sarawak to plan for the long term, implement development programs and pursue the Stateโs interests without being constantly distracted by political uncertainty.
This is the model PDP Pemuda supports.
It is not about blind loyalty. Where mistakes are made, correct them. Where procedures create unnecessary obstacles, improve them. Where individuals abuse their authority, hold them accountable.
But isolated administrative disputes should not automatically be turned into a broader suggestion that the entire GPS administration is deliberately preventing an opposition MP from serving his constituents.
Such a serious narrative requires equally serious evidence.

The Selampit Bridge issue deserves urgency because residents have waited far too long for proper connectivity.
However, YB Mordi himself acknowledged during the same interview that the project has faced land issues, weather conditions, redesign requirements and complicated administrative processes.
The objective now should be straightforward:
Complete the bridge, provide the necessary access road and make the infrastructure genuinely usable for the people.

Residents do not benefit from politicians arguing endlessly over who deserves credit. They need infrastructure that works.

YB Mordi is also now a Federal Deputy Minister. That places him in a stronger position to translate concerns into solutions through federal-state coordination.

Where federal intervention is required, use that position. Where Sarawak Government cooperation is necessary, engage the State Government. Where agencies need to sit together, bring them together.
That is the kind of political maturity younger Sarawakians want to see. PDP Pemuda is prepared to debate DAP strongly on policies, political direction and records of performance. That is democracy.
But when development requires cooperation, cooperate. When wrongdoing is alleged, produce the evidence. When government makes mistakes, correct them. And when elections arrive, let every party present its record and allow Sarawakians to decide.
YB Mordi said politicians can compete during elections and work together afterwards.
We accept that principle. So let us apply it.
