Throwback to 24th August 2026, when we hosted animation and media professionals who have worked on famous animated movies many of us have watched (and are still watching).
Making up the delegation were Galyn Susman, Mike de Seve, Yuki Pang, "Kurre", and Thatcher Mines. They were accompanied by local liaison, Joshua Ng.
Galyn is an award-winning producer, entrepreneur, and influential technology leader with over three decades of experience at Pixar Animation Studios. She was the producer of Lightyear and associate producer of the Academy Award-winning Ratatouille. Today, Galyn is the Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer of the Institute for Evolvable Medicines, where she works to transform scientific discoveries into breakthrough therapies.
Mike, the founder of Baboon Animation, a New York-based collective of writers with 31 Emmys among them. His work with DreamWorks includes Madagascar, Shrek 2 & 3, and Monsters vs. Aliens. Mike currently focuses on addressing climate change through engaging kids' content.
Yuki, CEO of animation studio Anima Vitae in KL, almost became a chemist before falling into animation. Her dream is to bring an Oscar back to Malaysia.
Kurre, originally from Finland and based in Kuala Lumpur for the past 15 years, is co-founder of Anima Vitae, a Finland–Malaysia collaboration and lover of nature and Borneo.
Thatcher is a Finland-based media executive developing animated films for IMAX and giant-screen science centers globally. Together with the delegation he is currently working on BE Studios' project Lee's Lab: GLOW (a US–Finland–Malaysia collaboration), set in the Borneo rainforest and focused on the wonders of biodiversity and molecular biology.
