Dear visitors, please be informed that Danum Valley Studies Centre (DVSC) will be temporarily closed from 20 November – 11 December 2026 for scheduled maintenance and improvement works.

Today, we celebrate one of Borneo’s most iconic wildlife species — the orangutan. 🧡

🎉 Heartiest congratulations to Daniel Wong from Universiti Sains Malaysia on successfully completing his internship at Danum Valley Studies Centre (DVSC)!

Over the past five months, Daniel was attached to the Danum Valley Conservation Area (DVCA), where he successfully completed his mini project, "Assessment and Development of Visitor Interpretation Opportunities at Manggaris Camp, DVSC," under the guidance of Mr Cafasso Theodore Tappa, the Conservation & Research Officer at DVCA.

We commend Daniel for his dedication, enthusiasm and valuable contribution throughout his internship. We wish him every success in his future endeavours!

Meet the Sabah Blue Tarantula (Phormingochilus sp. “Sabah Blue”)—a striking forest resident known for its beautiful blue colouration and mysterious appearance. Although it may look intimidating, every creature has an important place within the rainforest ecosystem. 🌿
