Program Pendidikan Alam Sekitar Khas 🌿

Pada 10 hingga 12 April 2026, Kawasan Konservasi Lembah Danum telah menerima kunjungan daripada SK Lahad Datu 3 dan SK Payang bagi menyertai Program Pendidikan Alam Sekitar Khas.

Program ini memberi peluang kepada murid-murid untuk mengenali keunikan hutan hujan tropika, memahami kepentingan pemuliharaan alam sekitar, serta menyemai rasa cinta terhadap biodiversiti sejak usia muda.

Semoga pengalaman ini dapat memberi inspirasi kepada generasi muda untuk terus menghargai dan melindungi khazanah alam kita.

A true survivor of the wild! With its sturdy shell and slow but steady pace, the Asian Giant Tortoise is built for endurance. Found here in the forests of Borneo, these incredible reptiles play an important role in maintaining the balance of their ecosystem.

Slow and steady wins the race… and helps keep the forest thriving. 🌿✨

🐍 “Don’t disturb, I’m blending in.”

Meet the Bornean Keeled Viper — one of Sabah’s most striking (and perfectly camouflaged) forest residents. With its bold patterns and “invisible-in-the-leaves” look, this snake is a true master of ambush, staying still and blending into branches while it waits patiently.

Even on a Monday, nature reminds us: the wild is beautiful, quiet… and powerful. ✨
If you’ve ever joined a night walk or jungle trek, you’ll know the best sightings happen when we move slowly, stay respectful, and let wildlife be wildlife.

⚠️ Safety note: This species is venomous — admire from a safe distance, no touching, no handling, and avoid disturbing it.

Spooky Sunday! Say hello to the “Kera Hantu” (Tarsier) — tiny, shy, and seriously big-eyed spotted in Danum Valley Conservation Area. Those huge eyes aren’t for cuteness… they’re for surviving the dark! 👀✨

📌 Fun Facts / Fakta Menarik:

1. Biggest eyes (for its size) in the primate world — perfect for night vision.
Mata paling besar (ikut saiz badan) dalam dunia primat — sesuai untuk penglihatan malam.

2. Head-turning talent: can rotate its head up to ~180° each side.
Boleh pusing kepala: sehingga ~180° setiap sisi.

3. Super jumper: powerful legs help it leap farther than its body length between branches.
Juara melompat: kaki kuat membolehkan ia melompat lebih jauh dari panjang badan.

4. Carnivore primate: eats insects, and sometimes small lizards.
Primat karnivor: makan serangga, dan kadang-kadang cicak kecil.

5. Quiet, shy, and sensitive: best admired from a distance — no flash, no loud noise.
Pemalu & sensitif: paling baik dilihat dari jauh — jangan guna flash, jangan bising.
