Kicking off 2026 with strength, purpose, and momentum, the Department of Psychiatry and Mental Health, Hospital Lahad Datu, proudly marks the successful completion of our "Management of Aggression in MOH Facilities Course", held on the 7th and 8th of May 2026 at Hospital Lahad Datu.
Guided by this year’s theme, “Learn It Right, Reduce the Fright, Manage It Right,” the course served as an important platform in strengthening knowledge, confidence, and practical skills in managing aggression safely and effectively within healthcare settings.
This meaningful programme brought together healthcare professionals and multidisciplinary teams from various sectors, fostering collaboration, shared learning, and professional growth in handling challenging situations within MOH facilities.
We were deeply honoured to welcome participants and collaborators from ESSCOM, Penjara Lahad Datu, Polis Diraja Malaysia (PDRM), and Jabatan Pencegahan Jenayah dan Keselamatan Komuniti (JPJKK), whose presence and shared experiences greatly enriched the discussions and strengthened the spirit of inter-agency collaboration throughout the course.
Special appreciation is also extended to the Breakaway Team of Hospital Tawau for conducting the practical sessions, providing valuable hands-on exposure, real-life techniques, and operational insights that significantly enhanced the overall learning experience for all participants.
As both participants and organisers, we shared meaningful moments of teamwork, reflection, and empowerment — strengthening not only our clinical and operational preparedness, but also our resilience and commitment towards creating safer healthcare environments for staff, patients, and the community.
Together, we continue moving forward towards building safer healthcare environments through knowledge, resilience, teamwork, and compassionate care for staffs, patients and community 🥷🏽🫀
