Greetings to everyone and Salam bahagia.

Just a bit of description on why this ‘Old Melaka Under the Scope’ page came upon to being set up. We have seen over the years many information and historical matters on old Melaka were really off the mark eg. it was publicly recorded by a state government agency that the Stadhuys area was already painted in red in 1820 but actually it wasn’t. Old photos in the 1870s showed otherwise, it was white then.
Another example is that it was widely published that the Clock Tower was built in 1886 but passing travelers accounted that as early as 1879 the tower was already there.

We wish to try to comment or perhaps correct on some misinformations that had caused some confusion on everything on historical Melaka and put the record straight. After all, this was the place where many great wars were battled for over six hundred years ago.

We would very much appreciate it if you could follow some in-house rules:-
