We were pleased to host Mr. Rui Vaz, Director of Language Services from the Institute for Cooperation and Language under the Portuguese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, at the Portuguese Settlement on 2 February 2026 🇵🇹

We had meaningful discussions on preserving our language and culture, and appreciated the time Mr Rui spent engaging with members of the community.

Thank you for the visit, we look forward to working together.

Details:
* Space size: 10x10 ft (around the square area)
* Fee: RM50 (non-refundable)
* Payment deadline: 5th February
* Space will be allocated by JPKK and confirmed after payment

Important notes:
* Space only (utilities are not provided)
* Vendors may operate from morning until night
* Vendors are kindly requested to clean their own area and maintain cleanliness throughout the event
* Each vendor is responsible for their own business license/permit

*🇵🇹✨ An Honoured Visit to Kampung Portugis ✨🇵🇹*

We were truly honoured to welcome H.E. Luiz Manuel de Albuquerque Veloso, Ambassador of Portugal, and Dato’ Dr. Mohamed Noor Sany, Honorary Consul of Portugal in KL, for an unofficial visit and meeting with the JPKK of Kampung Portugis.

During our term in the JPKK, this stands as one of the most prestigious visits we have received from representatives of our motherland. Many meaningful matters were discussed, including land issues and the festivals and cultural celebrations we proudly uphold here in Kampung Portugis. His Excellency expressed great amazement and shared several plans and ideas for the future of our Kampung. We sincerely hope that all discussions will come to fruition in time.

Following the meeting, we adjourned to Sabroso Restaurant in the Portuguese Square for a light meal and were delighted to enjoy a traditional Portuguese dance performance by 1511 O-Maliao Maliao

With gratitude and hope for a brighter future ahead 🤍.

On 21st December 2025, YB together with St Theresa’s Church carollers visited Kampung Portugis, bringing Christmas cheer and spreading joy to a few homes in the kampung. 🎄✨
It was truly a joyous and meaningful occasion, made even more special by YB taking the time to be with our community during this festive season.
Grateful for the fellowship, music, and shared Christmas spirit. ❤️
