SEAMEO SEN was honoured to host the official visit of the SEAMEO Council President, Yang Berhormat Datin Seri Setia Dr. Hajah Romaizah binti Haji Md Salleh, Minister of Education, Brunei Darussalam, on 20 April 2026.
The visit commenced with a warm welcome and followed by a briefing session where SEAMEO SEN shared its mandate, key programmes, and ongoing initiatives in advancing inclusive education for learners with disabilities across the Southeast Asian region.
The distinguished delegation was then brought on a guided tour of SEAMEO SEN’s facilities, showcasing our resource areas, training environments, and innovative approaches in special education.
A key highlight of the visit was the Opening Session of the SEAMEO SEN Regular Course titled “From School to Success: Roadmap to Career Transitions for Learners with Disabilities”, where insightful remarks were delivered, emphasizing the importance of structured transition pathways for learners with special needs.
The visit continued at SMK Malim, Melaka, where the delegation received a comprehensive school briefing and observed the implementation of inclusive practices through the Pendidikan Khas Integrasi (PPKI) programme. The session provided valuable insights into classroom environments and real-life learning experiences of students with special educational needs.
This meaningful visit reflects the strong regional collaboration and shared commitment among SEAMEO Member Countries in promoting inclusive, equitable, and quality education for all.
