The Miri City Council extends its deepest appreciation to all distinguished guests who attended the 7th Miri City Mayor’s Awards, held on 7 December 2025.

We are especially honoured by the presence of Yang Berhormat Datuk Sebastian Ting Chiew Yew, along with our local dignitaries, community leaders, heads of government departments, representatives from various organisations, and members of the Miri community who joined us in celebrating this meaningful evening.

COURTESY VISIT FROM SARAWAK TRADE AND TOURISM OFFICE SINGAPORE (STATOS) TO MIRI CITY COUNCIL

Miri City Council (MCC) was honoured to welcome the delegation from the Sarawak Trade and Tourism Office Singapore (STATOS) for a Courtesy Visit and Briefing Session held on 13 November 2025 at Chamber, Level 9, Miri City Council.

The delegation was led by Mdm. Putrie Rozana Soraya, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of STATOS, accompanied by Mdm. Vivian Chia and representatives from Singapore media and content creators. They were received by the Deputy Mayor of Miri City, YBhg. Tuan Haji Ariffin bin Mohamad, together with Council Members and MCC senior officers.

This visit forms part of STATOS’ Halal-Friendly Familiarisation Trip to Miri and Mulu, aimed at strengthening tourism collaboration and positioning Miri as a welcoming, inclusive, and halal-friendly destination for regional and international travellers.

Miri City Council expresses its sincere appreciation to STATOS for their continuous efforts in promoting Sarawak, and for choosing Miri as one of the focus destinations for halal-friendly and eco-tourism.

We look forward to stronger collaborations in the future to enhance Miri’s visibility and appeal on the international stage.

COURTESY VISIT FROM LIMBANG DISTRICT COUNCIL TO MIRI CITY COUNCIL

Miri City Council (MCC) was honoured to receive a delegation from Limbang District Council for a study visit on 13 November 2025 at Chamber, Level 9, Miri City Council.

The visit focused on knowledge sharing and operational insights related to the Miri City Council Pig Slaughterhouse Facility, including best practices in:

1)Facility management
2)Hygiene and sanitation standards
3)Licensing and enforcement procedures and
4)Public health compliance

The delegation was led by Cr. Aaron Rachel Palu, accompanied by Limbang District Council's officers, and welcomed by Miri City Council representatives including Council Members, the Acting City Secretary, and the Public Health Section.

This engagement provided a meaningful platform for both councils to exchange ideas, strengthen collaboration, and enhance service delivery for the benefit of our respective communities.

Miri City Council extends our appreciation to Limbang District Council for choosing Miri City Council as a benchmarking partner.

We look forward to continued cooperation and future knowledge-sharing initiatives.
