UTHM UNESCO CHAIR AND UNESCO CLUB UTHM IGNITE A PROMISING GLOBAL STUDENT FUTURE
UTHM UNESCO Chair together with the leadership of MyRIVET UTHM recently held a high-impact engagement session with UNESCO Club UTHM, in conjunction with the club’s official establishment following university approval in March this year. The meeting marked a dynamic and promising first step in positioning the club as a catalyst for student empowerment rooted in global citizenship, leadership excellence, volunteerism, and sustainable development.
The session was graced by Prof. Emeritus Dr. Jailani bin Md Yunos, UTHM UNESCO Chair Holder on TVET Educators and Patron of UNESCO Club UTHM. Also present were Prof. Ts. Dr. Lai Chee Sern, Deputy Director of MyRIVET and Club Advisor II; Assoc. Prof. Ts. Established in March 2026, UNESCO Club UTHM has already reached a membership of 100 students, including 14 members from Pagoh Campus, with the majority from the Main Campus. This strong momentum reflects growing student interest in global engagement, leadership exposure, personal growth, and international networking opportunities.

In addition, Prof. Ts. Dr. Chee Sern Lai opened doors for wider international collaboration opportunities through thO Chair ecosystem and its global strategic network.
The establishment of UNESCO Club UTHM represents a forward-looking and strategic university initiative to strengthen the global campus agenda while shaping holistic graduates who are confident, competitive, and ready to lead on both national and international stages.
