This rainforest icon is one of the most breathtaking birds you’ll ever encounter at Penang Bird Park. The brighter the casque and bill, the more impossible it is to look away.

Fun fact: The Rhinoceros Hornbill is the national bird of Sarawak and can be heard long before it’s seen. 🌿

“They’ve gone rogue.” 🚨🐹

Our little G-Force squad somehow escaped and made a run for one of the enclosures at Penang Bird Park. Most of the team made it into the enclosure… but one little agent got stuck outside. 🫡💔

This operation was definitely not approved by management.

“Living with snakes changes a meerkat.” 👀🐍

Our resident meerkat has officially made himself at home in the reptile house, but the ball python still keeps him on edge 😅

One curious look turned into a very concerned stare at the camera… as if he suddenly remembered he lives with snakes.

Curiosity: 10/10

Spotted, stealthy, and full of character 🦎

Meet the Leopard Gecko — one of the many fascinating reptiles waiting to be discovered inside our Reptile House. From their expressive eyes to their unique spotted patterns, these little nocturnal hunters are always a guest favourite.

Fun fact: Leopard geckos can “talk” using chirps and squeaks, especially when communicating with other geckos.

At first glance, it hardly looks like an owl at all… and this shy little one knows exactly how to steal the spotlight. 🦉✨

The rare Pied Bay Owl is known for its striking mix of pale and dark feathers, giving it a completely different appearance from many other owls. Even with its bold colouring, this elusive nocturnal bird prefers to stay quiet and hidden among the trees.

Here at Penang Bird Park, our shy owl is slowly getting comfortable with a little photo training for guests — one careful glance at a time. 📸🌙

Fun fact: The Pied Bay Owl’s call is not a deep hoot, but a haunting whistle that echoes through the forest at night.
