It is with the heaviest of hearts that we share the unfortunate news that Mehm Layih Ong had passed away recently on 17th June 2022. WATAN successfully raised the funds needed for his surgery about 4 months ago but his heart’s condition worsened recently and the doctors at Institut Jantung Negara couldn’t revive him this time around.

We remain grateful to our donors who contributed to generously to Mehm’s surgery and brought precious time for him and his family.

Rest easy now Mehm ❤️ Picture credit belongs to Tiny Gold Hearts Project.

WE DIT IT AGAIN! We have successfully raised the additional funds needed for Mehm Layih Ong’s final life saving surgery. Mehm had been discharged from the hospital and finally reunited with his family who missed him dearly.

Thanks to our generous donors, we had raised the additional amount of MYR37,201.43 collectively with other fundraising sites. We are so grateful for your love and support for this fundraising campaign.

We were informed that Mehm’s surgery was so complicated that we almost lost him. However, Mehm fought valiantly for his life and thank you so much everyone for fighting alongside him 🙌🏻

WATAN recently highlighted the story of Sofia on Twitter who was worried when her mum woke up blind in her right eye. We made an undisclosed donation to her restaurant to pay for meals paid in advance or suspended meals for Sofia’s customers. Sofia made our contribution even better by donating the meals to orphans instead. We obviously love what she did!

Our prayers for the full recovery of Sofia’s mum’s eyesight.

Mehm Layih Ong went through his surgery on Monday, 7th February 2022. However, the surgery was more extensive than initially expected. Instead of repairing the supravalvular aortic stenosis, doctors also had to repair the aortic arch, neck vessels and also repair the opening of the coronary arteries.

Unfortunately the expenses for Mehm's heart surgery has reached RM131,238.40. Through the generous contribution of donors, MYR70K had been raised from the previous campaign. However, due to post-surgery complications, the expenses has increased unexpectedly by an additional MYR61K.

Please help if you can. Mehm Needs You!

Daughter is worried when her mum woke up blind in her right eye. Her mum is diabetic, therefore she needs immediate treatment or the blindness could be permanent. Let’s support Sofia who is promoting her parent’s restaurant so that her mum can get the treatment that is urgently needed.

Location of the restaurant is Pak Tam Kopitiam, Cafe SMBK, Lorong Titiwangsa 2, Taman Bukit Setia at Seremban. The restaurant is open from Mondays to Sundays except Fridays from 8am to 3pm. The restaurant is located right next to Sarasamura at Taman Bukti Setia.

Sofia is not looking for donations but merely asking our help to support her parent’s business. For more information, please ask Sofia on Twitter.

Anish is an 8-year old boy from Pakistan. He is the eldest out of two siblings. He was diagnosed with Tetralogy of Fallot & Pulmonary Atresia. Tiny Gold Hearts Project raised funds for his first procedure Cardiac Catheterization on 25th February 2021. His second and final surgery was a Rastelli Procedure which was done on 19th September 2021. There was a brief period of kidney impairment that needed dialysis for 24 hours and other post-surgery complications which required him to stay in the NICU ward for another 2 weeks.

Anish has been discharged from INSTITUT JANTUNG NEGARA - The National Heart Institute of Malaysia on Friday 8th October 2021. He is doing very well and active. The surgery was a success and it was a miracle he recovered from post-surgery complications.

The total bill has reached RM121,000 due to extra costing for the complication and ward stay in the NICU. Tiny Gold Hearts Project has managed to raise RM80k (the initial quotation from Institut Jantung Negara.) Thank you to everyone who has contributed. We cannot find the right words to express how grateful we are to each and every one of you who have been with Anish throughout his heart journey.

We are now trying to raise the remaining bill (RM41k) to be paid to Institut Jantung Negara as soon as possible so that we can bring in the next child for his surgery. Please donate if you can and share this appeal.
