COORDINATION MEETING ON TOMORROW CITY SHANGHAI 2026
PUTRAJAYA, 14 May 2026 – The Centre for Smart City Planning, PLANMalaysia, has held a coordination meeting to further and strengthen preparations for the Tomorrow City Shanghai 2026 program. The meeting was chaired by Datuk TPr. Dr. Alias bin Rameli, Director General of the Department of Town and Country Planning Malaysia (PLANMalaysia), and Mr. Luis Mao, CEO of Tomorrow City Shanghai (TCS).
Today’s session is of critical importance as preparations advance towards 2026. The discussion focused on two key areas. First, further deliberation on the participation of the Malaysian delegation at Tomorrow City Shanghai 2026 this September, and exploring PLANMalaysia’s role in supporting TCS in coordinating the Pre-Matching Meeting scheduled for this May. Through a series of Business-to-Business (B2B) engagements, PLANMalaysia will serve as a strategic link between Malaysian and Chinese smart solution providers to foster high-value partnerships ahead of the main event.
PLANMalaysia hopes that this continued collaboration will further strengthen Malaysia’s international smart city efforts, enhance knowledge exchange, and reinforce sustainable and innovative urban development initiatives toward Smart Nation 2040.
