Strengthening Connections Through Muslim-Friendly Tourism in Central Asia 🌍✨
From 24–30 April 2026, Islamic Tourism Centre participated in the Central Asia Mini Roadshow (CIS Roadshow) organised by Tourism Malaysia across Almaty and Astana, Kazakhstan, as well as Tashkent, Uzbekistan.
The roadshow brought together tourism stakeholders, travel agents, airlines and industry players from across Central Asia to strengthen strategic collaboration and promote Malaysia’s tourism offerings in line with Visit Malaysia 2026. Through seminar presentations, business-to-business meetings and engagement sessions, ITC shared Malaysia’s best practices in Muslim-friendly tourism and hospitality, including the Muslim-Friendly Tourism and Hospitality Assurance and Recognition (MFAR) initiative.
Throughout the programme, strong interest was shown towards Malaysia’s halal ecosystem, Muslim-friendly services and tourism experiences, reflecting the growing demand from the Central Asian market. More importantly, the engagement opened opportunities for future partnerships, knowledge exchange and stronger international networks in positioning Malaysia as a leading global Muslim-friendly destination.
