🌞 IT’S HOT… BUT WHAT SHOULD A MUSLIM WOMAN COVER?
Summer has arrived, and with hot weather comes a genuine challenge for many Muslims: how do we stay cool while also maintaining Islamic modesty?
Islam gives guidance on this.
Allah says:
“And tell the believing women to lower their gaze and guard their chastity and not expose their adornment… Let them draw their veils over their chests…”
📖 Qur’an 24:31
Allah also says:
“O Prophet! Tell your wives, your daughters, and the women of the believers to draw their outer garments over themselves…”
📖 Qur’an 33:59
So, in front of non-mahram men, modest clothing should include:
🤍 Covering the hair
🤍 Covering the neck and chest
🤍 Loose clothing that doesn’t reveal the shape of the body
🤍 Non-transparent clothing
🤍 Avoiding the unnecessary display of adornment
🤍 Clothing that provides proper coverage while allowing you to remain comfortable
Let’s encourage one another with wisdom, kindness and respect, rather than judging or shaming.
