Pustaka Raja Tun Uda Raja Tun Uda Library in Section 13, Shah Alam, was built to commemorate the declaration of “Selangor Maju” or Selangor as a developed state in 2005

The Selangor State Government back then planned to build a monument. But in the opinion of His Royal Highness Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Alhaj, the Sultan of Selangor, the construction of the monument would not be beneficial to the people. His Royal Highness believes that building a full-fledged public library, filled with books and knowledge, is more beneficial to the people of Selangor. His R

oyal Highness consented to the State Government building this library as a gift to the people so the people of the State can read and gain greater knowledge in various fields thus helping to enrich their lives consistent with the standards of and expectations in a progressive and developed state.
