Thanks to our friends from the Australian, Chinese and Hungarian Embassy who participated in 'Kelulut Walk', a campaign to promote stingless bee honey as superfood, in Johor Bahru. The officials also had the opportunity to visit our MD2 Pineapple plantation in Pekan Nanas, Johor. We hope that the cooperation between AB and the Embassies will continue to be strong.

Mr. Rudy Khairuddin, Undersecretary of International Division, Ministry of Agriculture and Agrobased Industry delivered a joint statement on behalf of the Asia Regional Group, on the Reviewed Strategic Framework during the opening of 156th Session of FAO Council.

In the joint statement, he highlighted Asia's concern to the challenge of climate change & urbanization in relation to food security. Asia Group further urge FAO to assist countries to achieve food security through the South-South and Traingular Cooperation. FAO must continue support Asia countries through policy advice, knowledge sharing and standard setting.

Among the important areas highlighted includes protection of plant resources from pests and diseases through phytosanitary measures, building farmers resilience to climate change and innovation for sustainable agriculture production through the unique platform of Globally Important Agricultural Heritage Systems (GIAHS).
