During my primary school days in the primary English school, Tronoh, in the late 1950s , the sight of the mobile dental van rolling into the school compound , sent shudders into the pupils.
No body likes to sit in the dental chair with a pair of plier n a drill waving in front of your face.
Funnily , the same pupils were called every time to the van because they had seek dental treatment earlier n so
had a record.
Fortunately , luckily or unluckily (depending how you look at it) I was not called by the nurse , not even once, as I had no dental record.

It is the end of the Hungry Ghost Festival for this year. The King of Hades has been controlling his subjects roaming the earth n to see that they do not create mischiefs.
It is now time for these invisible beings to enter the nether world again after having feasted to their hearts' content for a whole month.
To send off the King of Hades, his paper effigy would be burnt together with a big boat loaded with riches, befitting his stature.
The Hor Sin Ku temple in Tronoh will be hosting a celebration during this period in the form of a stage performance. There will be 9 days of opera performances n 3 days where singers will pelt out Mandarin songs.
All the expenses will be sponsored by a few rich individuals. Bless their souls.
